Very nice, clean and very comfortable
Nothing
The room was great, everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable
The check-in instructions were terrible, we were shown our room and given a key and then left, that would not have been a problem if the access to the rooms was not so difficult after the bar closed or if we'd even been told you couldn't access the room from the reception or bar area. We were almost left without a place to stay as we could not access our room when we returned at 23.30 and the only key fob we could find wouldn't let us into the hotel.
Luckily we got help from the bar tender at the pub across the road who informed us there had been others in the past that have had similar trouble and allowed us to wait in the pub until we found a resolution, We tried calling all the numbers we could find and she tried a personal contact she had but could get no answers. In the end I saw another couple in their room and had to knock on their window to get them to let us in. The night access is up the fire escape stairway and They showed us a second key fob located on a railing behind you when you were facing the door.
In the morning the main stairway and exit was locked off and we had to just leave the key in the door of our room and leave via the fire escape.
My wife was very worried about where we would end up when we couldn't access our room as we were both unfit to drive by the end of the night, our keys were in our room, in fact we were very lucky to finally get access and even then feel bad for the couple who we had to disturb after midnight to let us in.
The room was clean. But got nothing affter after the first day.
The fire escape to get out of the hotel in the morning to go out for breakfast as the hotel was locked until after 10 .
Really nice room. Great staff.
All good. Just be aware huge car park but tight entrance. My medium car was fine but watch large SUVs.
The room was perfect and the bed was so comfortable that I didn't even wanted to leave the bed
Clean and well presented.
Bar closes at 10pm even on a Saturday night! An hotel would be expected to serve drinks to residents at least until 11pm.
Great friendly staff lovely hotel clean and lovely food
Friendly and helpful staff. Changed my room so I didn't have to walk up two flights of stairs, carried my case up and down on departure.
Nothing not to like.
Staff were very professional and helpful The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Great central location to Alnwick. Easy to access the rooms, early breakfast at the pub if you wanted it and adequate on site parking which was helpful. Staff were friendly.
There was tea and coffee facilities in the room. But no coffee was given when we asked we were told they did not have any which was disappointing. We stayed two nights and it stated in the room that you could leave towels in the shower if you want them replaced but no one came in the room. This isn’t an issue if it hadn’t been implied this would happen. This also meant we ran out of toilet paper and had to request more. The fire exit which was an entrance for the guest rooms with a fob did not shut properly so was always open which made it not feel very secure. The windows of the bedroom we were in are on the fire exit walkway so you would be overlooked by others with the blinds open. It said some of the rooms don’t have opening windows but do have air con. Our room didn’t have opening windows but there was just a fan and it was very hot in the room even with the fan going.
Great location to theatre which we were attending.
Carpets on stairwell to rooms were filthy and sticky. Were told after hours access was via fire exit stairs which should have been locked and accessed via dongle on room key. This was broken so a free for all for anyone to enter the floor where hotel rooms were!
Location was great and staff friendly.
System of locking the doors and having to enter and leave via back stairwell. Also doors locked really early.
Room was very attractive .
Dinner was good pub grub but due to shortage of staff service was very slow . Breakfast eas not available due to chef illness
The young staff were excellent but the whole feel to the place was lack of management by somebody who cared . Window frame paintwork was dreadful and the finish on shower room fittings was poor which was such a shame as the room itself was very nicely decorated .
No breakfast was available due to the lack of a chef. The room was comfortable. The shower was good but the ceiling above it was mouldy
The lack of any breakfast. The one evening meal we had was very disappointing. There was no television signal for the first two days because of a system fault in the hotel. Some people would find the access to the car park challenging and there should a warning to this effect. The landing door was locked every morning and we had to use the fire escape to exit and go and buy our breakfast at Barter Books which doesn't open until 9am.
Breakfast wasn't served at the premises
Heating wasn't working in the room and shower a little dirty.
We had to change Hotels at short notice, due to no hot water at our previous hotel. The Plough staff welcomed us in even though it was evening. They were happy to explain everything. In the morning we found we had no hot water. The staff quickly arrange to sort this out. We returned later to find everything dealt with. Staff were extremely helpful and chatted rather than just serving people.
Room at the top of building.
