Beautiful pub which could be so much better

Wonderful and relaxing
Pros:

We loved the warm friendly welcome at the reception when we arrived. The staff were extremely attentive and we felt totally relaxed. The food was just wonderful, freshly cooked to order with big portions. We stayed in the "Muckle" bedroom and it was really quite sumptuous, spacious and warm. I'd say it's the comfiest bed we've slept in any hotel. We look forward to staying in the future on our visits to Alnwick.

Cons:

There was nothing to dislike at all.

Lovely central location, friendly staff and cosy room.
Pros:

The room was lovely, very comfortable, and ensuite bathroom was good. Great location, very central, and check-in was simple & straightforward.

Cons:

Not much information provided on check-in (e.g. about wifi, restaurant, etc), car park was tricky to find but in a good spot once we'd found it - through a tiny archway into the back of the pub!

Pros:

Lovely location being a little way out of main centre

Cons:

No option of breakfast. It was easter sunday attending a wedding and had to go looking to see what was open that did breakfast.

Comfortable stay
Pros:

The few staff I met were friendly and efficient. The room was fine, bed comfortable. Appreciated coffee/ tea making facilities

Cons:

The fact that eg cups were not changed daily
Being' locked in' in the morning. I appreciate that for security reasons it is necessary at night but would hope to be released by 9.30am!

Pros:

Very cosy comfortable room. Bed, pillows, duvet all very comfortable and good shower with plenty shower gel, body lotion etc

I enjoyed my stay. Nothing at all to dislike!

Very disappointing

The shower was no better than a drizzle.You cannot get out through the main building and had to exit via an outside fire escape with cases
