Sukhothai Heritage Resort

I am rating my stay as excellent due to value, ambience, food, staff and location. Firstly the accomodation is not expensive and is comfortable. Yes the resort is in need of some upgrading but it was obviously a victim of the Covid impact on tourism and will hopefully have a good future with reinvestment being made into maintenance needs. It has exceptional gardens and architectural features. I had a very nicely made green curry. Staff were helpful and friendly. It is very handy to get to your morning flight at the airport 1 km away. The hotel provides free transfer.

We have stayed here several times over the past twelve years and I've given it at least a couple of 5* reviews. This time, reluctantly, it's a little less. Why? It's still a lovely relaxing place to stay, with interesting modern-but-traditional architecture in a beautiful setting. I think many of the visitors don't bother to leave the resort to go walking around the fields, but they should; an old Thailand is very close at hand. The gardens are well-maintained and the gardeners are delightfully shy yet friendly. However, the service seems to get more perfunctory as you go up the pecking-order, to the point of being uninterested. The restaurant was our main problem. One night I ordered squid and they were perfectly cooked, fresh, lightly fried, perfectly spiced. The next I couldn't wait to order them again; they were greasy, tough and tasteless. Different chefs obviously. But every day the breakfasts were really mediocre. This was the low season, but that's an opportunity that a resort can take to cook an order individually, instead of a buffet with pseudo-juice, cold eggs, cheap sausages and stale bread; or, on the Thai side, really, really bad khao tom. None of this will prevent us from returning; I just hope things will have improved.

Our room was on the ground floor, private patio with seating by the pool. Clean spacious room, comfortable bed. On site restaurant was good for dinner and breakfast. Good happy hour at the bar. Quiet location within extensive well maintained property.

Hotel is very nice. Sukhothai Feel. Overall is great, happy stay, bed is comfortable, pool is also good and free airport transfer with many tourist attractions within airport. Hope to have a chance to revisit.

An absolutely exquisite resort property surrounded by natural beauty. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, and all of the staff are very kind and helpful.

We stayed in this hotel in april of this year and we liked it very much. The room was spacious and well equiped, dinner in the restaurant was pretty good and breakfast is an extensive buffet with a mix of Asian and more Western foodstuffs, so most people will surely find something that they like.

In fact, we liked our stay so much that we wanted to be there again during the birthday celebration of my companion. And the staff knew that we had been there before as the words "Welcome back" were written in flower petals on the bed when we arrived. Nice gesture.

Because we would be traveling before we got this hotel, I did not have time to arrange for a special surprise myself, so I contacted the hotel staff. Their response was amazing. Not only did they arrange for a beautiful bouquet of red roses to be given at breakfast, they also added a hand drawn birthday card ... and offered a birthday cake while the entire staff sang "Happy birthday"! Even some of the other guests joined in the song. Needless to say that the surprise worked wonderfully...

The staff was wonderful throughout. On the first evening I had a special request for a wine that they did not have available and they just went out and got me a bottle of very nice wine!

The hotel is pretty much well described elsewhere on these pages, so I can be quick about that: lovely setting, beautiful buildings (make you think that you are visiting a Thai palace), great swimming pool, nice, clean rooms... In brief: the works.

When we left, we had to catch a plane on Sukhothai airport. The hotel provided a shuttle service for the one minute or so drive, so great time overall.

After booking this hotel ( non refundable) I read the reviews on TripAdvisor with some concern.

I am very happy to say that we had an excellent stay. The rooms are in good condition, showers have great water pressure, grounds are well maintained and the service was excellent. Breakfast was limited but quite adequate (and this may have to do with extremely low occupancy when we were here in off season). I am adding some photos as of June 2023.

I agree that the hotel is quite a long way from all the sites. You will need a car. We hired a car after a recommendation from the hotel front desk. With a car we drove through numerous villages and had the freedom to explore not only Sukhothai but Si Satchanalai Historical Park also. Most sites are 30-40 minutes drive from the hotel.

This hotel is very conveniently located to the airport but a good 35 K from the town itself, so once there you are pretty much a captive audience. The staff were uniformly pleasant and the setting quite charming with set around a central fountain, but the huge number of pigeons fouling the place was unpleasant. All hotels suffered through Covid and this one it seems has years of deferred maintenance which could be seen in all sorts of small ways. The rain shower has damaged nozzles, the sink pedestal peeling veneer etc. The breakfast was quite sad but others who had dinner said it was quite good. At the advertised rate of about 45USD I would say it offers fair value as this once was a luxury property and could be restored to one with some upkeep an pigeon relocation. Bed was comfortable, as was the room. Only consider staying here if you have your own transportation.

Facilities are old. Rain shower is broke, cannot use some electric plug, and the toilet can’t be pressed down. Service is ok but not that great.
I don’t like the shower area, no partition and water is spreading around the floor and make it slippery.

Great value. Easy access. Felt secure. Restaurant choices were few but the quality of breakfast and dinner choices were excellent. Service was friendly and always available without feeling intrusive. WiFi was fast but still spotty even in areas of the room we stayed in.

We stayed at this resort en route from Bangkok to Northern Thailand. We had a Junior suite which was massive. The hotel offers a well priced excursion to the Sukhothai Historical Park which is a must. The breakfast was limited but ok. We ate in the restaurant the first night which wasn't that great but room service the second night was good. The staff were very helpful and provided a great service.

Hidden gem place in Sukhothai Airport Area

It is beautiful hotel in a green location and not quite far and located be tween Sukhothai old town and Srisatchanalai Historicpark you can still set yourself miles apart with an amazing place. Everyone had a smile on their face and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The check in process are very fast.

Anything you need is a quick ask away to all staff member. There are no shortage of willing participants.

The rooms are so big comfortable with nice big pool view side.

For Happy Hour here, it is 18.00 - 19.00 and 21.00 - 22.00 will get 1 get 1 promotion drinks.

I am happy to go into much greater detail. I recommend this hotel without anyone go as much as you possibly can in Sukhothai.

Beautiful resort! We were only here one night and weren't roaming around that night, so I can't speak to the location. But the atmosphere of this resort is beautifully relaxing and the rooms had nice little private patios where you could sit and relax in peace.
Happy Hour? Plan ahead. The service was SUPER SLOW. What was funny was that our tour guide told us in advance to be patient when we ordered a drink; he said for whatever reason drink service takes a long time. He was absolutely not kidding. There was one very nice young man who was working the bar, but he seemed to either be new or very unorganized --- 4 drinks (only one of which was a cocktail) took almost 25 minutes. We were the only 4 people in the bar. You might just want to bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy before dinner -- there were plenty of peaceful social spaces to sip on your own.
The food service at dinner was more as expected: reasonable time, peacefully paced.

Arrived a little late and yet the hotel staff where very accommodating with recommendations and transfers.

The room where well appointed and very cosy for two. The walls seems a little thin.

The breakfast was a simple affair but very tasty - especially the pineapple conserve.

Ask for a room of the pool.

All the staff were friendly and accommodating to the guest. The property is gorgeous with two distinct pools. The breakfast was great with a chef personalizing your meal. All around a great experience and would come back again. 10/10 would recommend

Great hotel. Location is excellent, staff is very very friendly and professional, food is great, rooms are spacious and well-maintained. Love the traditional-thai design of the rooms and hotel. Rode bikes from hotel down to historic area. When in sukhothai, make sure you eat sukhothai noodle soup, city is famous for their delicious soup!

Very nice stay, but no public transport, and very limited menu

We elected to stay at this property with a view to visiting historical parks in the Sukhothai area. The property was not that easy to find as the GPS placed at the entrance of what seemed to be a private area. We then went past another hotel before getting to a gate which was promptly opened by security.

Our room was on the first floor with a nice view over the entrance area and a beautiful pool. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and local style of the hotel. Our room had a nice balcony although it was not particularly clean. I appreciate that there are many birds but I think that would just mean that the cleaning staff needs to work a bit more thoroughly to keep the outside area clean.

The bed was comfortable, internet connection reasonably reliable although not super fast. The bathroom featured a large shower, water pressure was good and temperature stable.

We had dinner twice in the hotel restaurant and the food was quite good although the menu is not very extensive. The same applies to the breakfast buffet which was placed outside.

When booking this hotel, keep in mind that you are 45 minutes to 1 hour away from the historical parks. A car is therefore absolutely needed.
