Bathroom could have done with upgrade. Radiator old ,rusty ,some broken tiles ,no fan .No window in bathroom.
Breakfast on 2nd morning not so good. Eggs overcooked .

Room had an exit emergency light which couldn't be switched off making sleep impossible. Bed had a 2 inch layer of foam on top of a wrecked mattress. If it wasn't for the lovely staff I would leave a public review laying out how unacceptable the room and bed were. Appalling.

Shower temperature inconsistent, couldn't open the window far for air, breakfast choice could have offered more healthy options e.g. muesli, plant based milk, poached eggs, wholemeal bread,
Clean friendly and brilliant breakfast
Overall ambience of the place. Everything seemed to be 'in its place'. A great deal of thought has been put into making this place into somewhere you'd want to return. We ate in the restaurant shortly after arriving and had our meals which can only be described as very good. Breakfast the following morning was excellent as well. This might be a quieter time of year but I can imagine it must be very busy during high season.. lots of things for families to keep little ones occupied outside with the outdoor facilities.
It was an amazing deal for the price we paid which included breakfast and we have paid much more at other places and not had such quality. I'd certainly recommend Hunters Lodge to anyone looking for a stay in the area.
Our only tiny complaint was our room (No. 10) is situated right next to a central heating boiler(?) thing outside... which mad a little noise but nothing that was too much to be a nuisance. Otherwise everything was great.
