Comfort, location and efficient staff
Pros:

Very comfortable. Spacious room. Clean. Close to the sights. Staff always willing to help and nice. Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet.

Cons:

Smoke detector in the ceiling just on top of bed/pillow area. Disturbing green flashlight at night. It is good to have a smoke detector but not in that location

A very short break, made worthwhile by Lalit's great hospitality
Pros:

The breakfast spread was perfectly fine and well prepared, and the location was truly fabulous. Being situated in such a great area added a lot to the overall comfort and enjoyment of the stay. And the mulled wine! It was quite a wow! Chanda at the spa provided excellent service. Lakshman at the Panna restaurant was attentive as always. Amit’s overall attention throughout the stay was warm and thoughtful. The location was fabulous and added greatly to the experience.

Pros:

Exceptionally good breakfast! Specially Bhagwat Agnihotri was very humble and he took care of us very well. We are very impressed. Mr Singh (Cheff) made excellent food. One of the beat cooks!!

Very disappointing experience due to poor coordination and lack of guest support

We stayed at The Lalit Temple View, Khajuraho from 3–5 December 2025. While the staff was generally courteous and the food was good, a serious incident on the evening of 4 December completely overshadowed our stay.

After a long day visiting Khajuraho Temples and Panna Tiger Reserve, our vehicle was stopped far from the hotel entrance by police. We were informed that because the Chief Justice of India was staying at the property, no vehicles were allowed inside. Shockingly, the hotel had given us no prior intimation about any such restrictions.

We were asked to either walk back with luggage or wait indefinitely—despite traveling with two senior citizens and a 4-year-old child. When we contacted the hotel, the staff offered no real assistance, citing “district administration” and taking no responsibility.

Later, even after the hotel assured us they would inform us when the road reopened, there was no communication for nearly two hours. Eventually, we were stopped again at the barricade and, with no support from the hotel, had to walk to the property carrying luggage, exhausted and uncomfortable.

What was most disappointing was that on reaching the reception, there was no acknowledgment, apology, or effort to address the inconvenience. The issue was simply brushed off as something that had “never happened before.”

For a hotel of this reputation, the lack of advance communication, on-ground assistance (such as a golf cart or escort), timely updates, and basic empathy was unacceptable. The experience caused significant physical and mental discomfort to my family.

Overall, despite good food and polite staff, the poor handling of a predictable VVIP situation and complete absence of guest care make this stay very disappointing. I would advise future guests to be cautious, especially if traveling with elderly family members or children.

An avoidable 5 star branded property
Pros:

The grounds and breakfast were the only redeeming features of this property. Cleanliness was very good. Staff over eager to please - a brand like LaLit should get the balance right. Bath gel and Body lotion was abundant and very good.

Cons:

So far we have travelled for 35 days out of town and have stayed in 6 local and interational brand hotels along the way. The LaLit by far was the biggest disspointment. The in room TV required susbscriptions to watch anything of note. The promised high speed WIFi was all of 7 Mbps and higher speed internet was at an additional cost in a country that has very affordable and high speed internet access! Terrible beds. Ridiculously overpriced dining. The bar pricing was as expensive as most good hotels in the West. Thank God the beer was reasonably priced.

Luxury Resort next to the temples
Pros:

The check in experience was fantastic, being welcomed with a necklace, a tilak, and a drink. The tour immediately after checkin, the facilities, the breakfast, the service at breakfast and dinner.

An awesome stay in Khajuraho
Pros:

At Lalit Temple View, we were treated extremely well - from welcome to departure. The staff really was very friendly and helpful. They took care of all our needs including helping us try new local dishes.

Ravindra at the door was phenomenal, always smiling, always willing to help.
All the front desk staff was super friendly and helpful as well.
