Beautiful quirky hotel

Lovley, quirky old hotel. Lovley decor. The food was delicious. Plenty of choice for breakfast

Perfect, friendly country Inn.
Pros:

The location was great, lovely quiet village. The staff and locals were friendly and the restaurant really excellent. The menu reassuringly limited and all of the food I had there was cooked exactly as I wanted it and was very tasty. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable and fans were provided to move the air around, so it was quite comfortable in the evening even though it was pretty warm. I never had any trouble parking during the stay. Just about perfect.

Cons:

My fault, I fear, but I booked the only room in the hotel without a shower. I can get into baths easily enough, but getting out is a different issue entirely. Oxford suite has a free standing bath with hand held shower. Very pretty, but not very functional for me these days.

Highly recommend for a short stay
Pros:

The staff were wonderful, communicated well and were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The pub is lovely and the rooms had a lot of character.

I would happily come again it was delightful
Pros:

Friendly staff lovely quiet location with lots of walking in the area, comfortable beds and great bathroom, beer garden for supper prompt service

Cons:

Only issue was listening to next room having heated conversation clearly not aware of thin walls

Pros:

Cosy rustic place with friendly staff. Would definitely stay again

Cons:

Food was very average for the price, lamb portion was small, undercooked and fatty with no side (potatoes, etc).
Fish and chips and full English breakfast were below expectations for the establishment and also for the price.

Pros:

The food was lovely in the pub although half the menu was not available, and the staff were lovely.
It was a nice location and a pleasant walk into Wantage through a public footpath.

Cons:

The Bathroom was dirty see pictures enclosed and cobwebs in the room.
I just wish I walked out.
This is not what you expect when paying £198 per night, you expect it to be clean, The management blamed the cleaner but this was not acceptable they should have checked.

A pleasant stay but the price tag didn't quite match the experience.
Pros:

A beautiful location and pub. There was secure storage for our bikes. Very quaint. Breakfast was good.

Cons:

Dinner was a little disappointing given the cost of the meal. For example, I ordered steak tartar as a starter and it was rather bland. None of the food blew us away. The room was small but pleasant.
