Excellent Hotel But?
Pros:

This is a good hotel. The staff are really helpful. The room clean, and comfortable. The car park was hard to find, for us and others, better signage required. The breakfast excellent value and fine. However I noticed on other reviews the management feel the bar prices are realistic. I am sorry to disagree, a glass of Pinot Grigio =£12.75 and a pint of Guinness =£7.25 is beyond belief. As a result whilst we felt we would have loved to use the bar more ( very comfortable) I felt I was being ripped off, so we retired regretfully to our room to enjoy drinks bought outside ( A litre of proprietor whisky, the same price £20). Please adjust your bar prices to a more realistic level.

Great stay in Southport
Pros:

Very happy with our stay. We’d not stayed in this hotel before when visiting family and friends in Southport so decided to give it a go.

Great location, within easy walking distance of all town centre attractions. Rooms are well equipped and the beds are comfy. We tried the breakfast buffet one day (if you book it in advance at reception it’s £10 vs £13 on the day) and there was lots of tasty food, including various gluten free options for my wife.

Overall, we would definitely stay again. Recommended.

Exceptional stay
Pros:

What can we say other than excellent hotel, our Superior King Room was perfect it had a super comfy bed, was exceptionally clean, with great decor and even had a lovely view of Blackpool tower in the distance.
Check-in was very efficient, Rhonda, James and the other lady on duty when we checked were so friendly and helpful, Rhonda was above and beyond phoning through to check for a local restaurant nearby for us.
Breakfast was of high standard and really delicious. There is a good choice for everyone.
Underground car park is great
Will definitely be returning and recommending after our wonderful New Year’s Eve stay.

Amazing New Years Eve
Pros:

Stayed here New Years Eve. Fabulous hotel, staff very pleasant and friendly. Reception area is beautiful with comfy settees and chairs, all still decorated for Christmas. Gorgeous superior room 523 with views of the lake and huge comfy bed.
Breakfast served buffet style, well worth the money 10/10, everything you could want and all hot and tasty.
Plenty of bars locally...within walking distance most with live music as it was New Years Eve.
Back to our room around 11.30pm and watched a firework show from our bedroom window.
Absolutely amazing time, thank you Waterfront Hotel.

Great hotel with fabulous views and lovely staff
Pros:

This was I think our fourth time staying here. We have family in Southport, so it’s really handy.
I honestly can’t fault the hotel or staff. We booked via Booking.com and had paid for early check-in. We arrived even earlier than the early check-in time, but the lovely Sophie on reception looked after us, and as the room was ready we got in the room straight away. We’d booked one of their suites, they’re great rooms - spacious, seriously comfy beds and with amazing views over the Marine Lake and out over the beach.
The location of the hotel is great, close to the lake, the pier, the big wheel, beautiful walks around the lake, and just on the edge of the town, so it’s really peaceful.
Breakfast is fantastic, a hot and cold self service buffet. No floppy bacon here, lovely and crisp, and tasty sausages, not nasty cheap ones.
A perfect place to stay if you’re in Southport.

Poor
Pros:

Well the evening is over. It's great meeting all my family. But Alas never to be here again. Bar prices through the roof. Bottle of prosecco £42 !!! (3 x glasses) double vodka over £8 . It was gr8 when it was run by Bliss hotels. But Amaze ha! Definitely not coming back. None of us. There was only us in the lounge room. Maybe 3 or 4 others earlier. Bar staff are having a hard time due to prices. Feel sorry for them as they get the feed back. I was told by my niece that she would get me my £15 back for 2 night stay. They said NO as I booked it through Experian.

A good stay in Southport
Pros:

Quiet, comfortable room and bed. Great breakfast.
First Class service from Receptionist Rhonda (American lady) made our trip better than it would have been. We were there for a funeral and she made sure everything was as smooth as it could be.

A warm welcome at the Waterfront Hotel
Pros:

My wife & I stayed at the Waterfront Hotel while attending a wedding reception in Southport. We were checked in by the very helpful & efficient Rhonda on reception & allocated room 509 on the 5th floor. The hotel is very modern & the bedroom was perfect for our needs with views overlooking the lake. All the staff are very friendly & we would highly recommend if looking for accommodation in Southport. Don't forget to register your car registration at reception & the cost was £15 overnight.

Amazing views
Pros:

What a fantastic hotel, We were given an upgrade to room 318 which is a very large room with outstanding views. Late at night we could actually see the Blackpool tower light up with its Christmas lights. This room and 418 have two big TVs .(one in the lounge area and one on the wall for the bed. Going back to the view from the balcony it is massive with great views of the marine lake and much further, The views are stunning. I must also mention the very kind and friendly reception staff, Both on arrival and departure. Getting out of the lift to book in we were met with a big smile from the receptionist and a friendly chat. On departure the same and even some friendly advice on the local area. A fantastic stay and we will be back soon

Good hotel with car park in Southport.
Pros:

Good clean room. Views over the waterfront system with sea in the distance. Close to local amenities on lord street. Good undercover car park for a bit extra but still good value taking that into account. But cheeky charging 10% service on evening meal when staying at the hotel. Good buffet style breakfast.

Glad we booked the Waterfront
Pros:

We had friends visiting and decided to take them away for a few days, first a couple of days at St Anne’s for them to see the Blackpool lights then a night at the Waterfront as neither had been to Southport before. I booked the 2 large bedroom suites 2nd floor with panoramic windows overlooking the lake.
I missed their entry into the bedroom as I was parking the car , let’s just say they were gobsmacked 😂😂 the gripe they had was they opened the door to the room facing South West for my wife after which they discovered that room has the better view 😂😂. We were room only as off first thing in the morning.
We did have a drink and a dinner in the evening , the restaurant was quite, only a few tables occupied , most of the staff were catering for a wedding party at the front of the closed off area to the front, we had a single lass looking after all tables serving food and drink I can only compliment her as no matter what she was doing , when the buzzer went from the kitchen straight to it all with a genuine smile, 10 out of 10.
Overall although we live in Cheshire the Wsterfront is on our list when we have visitors from the South West or Scotland for a few days visiting Southport

Cutting corners
Pros:

We have stayed in the other penthouse suite several time. Always enjoyed the views. Unfortunately this time (October) the windows were so dirty we couldn’t see out. I tried to clean a small area so we could see something. It was clear they had not been cleaned for ages. I noticed another review earlier that complained about the same thing. There only two penthouse suites I can’t believe they could not have been cleaned. Hotel has changed ownership, and it’s just looking like they are cutting corners. A real shame.

Simply avoid and most definitely stay away from the restaurant
Pros:

We love this hotel but once again the meal on the first night was truly awful. No apology either. Room wasn’t clean upon checking and took an hour and half to sort and the following day they didn’t clean the room so we had to chase them up again. Only Jean on reception cares and is always helpful. I got accused of smoking in the room. I do not smoke. I stay regularly at this hotel due to my treatment at near by hospital for heart disease. I DO NOT SMOKE, yet I got accused. Awful and I’m afraid our time there is up after going there every fortnight for three nights for the last six months while I had all my hospital treatments. Sickening to have our favourite hotel have a shocking restaurant in which temp chefs work there more than the regular chef making the food awful most nights. You can hear every table complaining.
