Excellent choice for location, but could use a little TLC
Pros:

There are many things to like about this hotel. Location is excellent if you're traveling to certain spring training games (Cubs especially, but we were there for the Giants, and Scottsdale stadium is only 12 minutes away). Also for old town Scottsdale. And many hiking options are available within 30 minutes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good, although I missed my waffle maker. We did not use the pool, but it was very popular with guests and looked very inviting. Lastly, our beds were very comfortable, although featured unusually small pillows (?)

Cons:

Our room, while vary spacious, was quite outdated (worn carpet, scratched furniture, pronounced burn-in images on the TV). A/C was quite loud and cycled on rather lengthy periods, which meant the room was allowed to warm up and then was cooled drastically (over and over again). Having said that, at least the A/C worked! As did everything else.
