The bed was excellent..The vibe was very English. The building was very English. The breakfast room was pretty..The bar was big and modern, a nice hip contrast. The location was super, for downtown experience. Value for your money, regarding location and overall vibe! :).
Just a little reminder: the hotel has steep, narrow stairs. No problem at all for me. But just wanted to inform other guests. But you can/could expect that from such a historic building.
Lovely staff. Very comfortable room with a great shower. Squidgy sofas downstairs in soft-lit lounge to enjoy your drink from the bar. Delightful breakfast with great coffee, fresh fruit and a huge array of nuts etc. to have with cereal and pastries.
Unfortunately I fell ill overnight meaning a call to 111 resulted in an ambulance being sent. The ambulance personnel were unable to gain access and unable to quickly raise anyone so felt obliged to call me. Fortunately I was just about able to descend to let them in. On departure by ambulance, the ambulance personnel accidentally closed the door with my room key in hand. They subsequently told me that it took many calls on repeat dial before a very, very sleepy sounding person finally responded. This makes me very concerned about overnight safety and explains why I have rated as bad despite my grading for the facilities,
Breakfast and the hotel location but.....
Finding the hotel as you cant park outside it might be helpful for staff to have more knowledge of the area to guide guests in. Also finding somebody elses pizza on top of our wardrobe wasnt pleasant.
Very central we could walk everywhere
Car parking was difficult and expensive
Hotel and staff were brilliant.
The room we had could do with a lick of paint as it was flaking off the ceiling and water marks along with it.
Comfortable bed, decent shower, excellent location.
Noise from other guests but only due to creaky floorboards as very old building. Unavoidable really but did affect sleep.
Location was excellent and room was very comfortable.
Shower could do with a thermostat control.
Conveniently located with easy access to attractions. The room was comfortable and the continental breakfast more than adequate
Close to town and station
Uncomfortable bed. Curtains do nothing to block out the street light. Terrible sleep
Your staff are excellent, especially your housekeeping and reception staff
Breakfast was great, lots of options, and we really liked being able to create our own muesli!
The location was really good, so close to everything we wanted to see and do.
We really enjoyed our stay with you and would stay here again.
Nothing important! Any slight inconveniences like no lifts, are offset by the charm of staying with you
Convenient for my needs for the weekend to visit family
Language of some other guests during fire alarm in the night.
Excellent location for Canterbury high st. Comfortable bed. Clean and tidy.
Low water pressure resulting in a poor shower. We were on the 2nd floor, so will be better on the floors below. Simple lesson.. don't install raindamce shower heads when you don't have a decent pressure. It says there is car parking on your website. Whilst this is true, its a 10 minute walk away and costs £16.
Great location lovely room and en suite
Nada
Great location, the staff were friendly and very helpful, everything we needed was within walking distance, we really enjoyed our stay
No complaints as we were very happy with everything
Well located for Canterbury sights. Helpful staff.
No chair in room, so had to sit on the bed.
