Shana by the Beach Manuel Antonio

The Jungle view was beautiful. The breakfast was excellent and the staff was nice and helpful. The pool was lovely. The whole snapper at their restaurant was my favorite meal of the whole trip.We indulged in the spa at the resort and I had a great facial and massage. A wonderful experience at this resort overall.

I liked this property, the staff is friendly, except the ladie that works making eggs in the breakfast, she wasn't was friendly anytime, didn't smile and she looks like sad, the rest of the staff so friendly and polite. The second day we have an issue in the room with the water heating, apararently wasn't working properly, but they gave us an room upgrade, we didn't have any issue with the new room, the breakfast is great, the property is well maintained, they are doing some upgrade to some part of the hotel, resuming my stay was great, definitely come back to this hotel in the future. Thank you for your excellent attention and make great our vacations
Me gustó esta propiedad. El personal es amable, excepto la señora que prepara los huevos para el desayuno, quien no fue amable en ningún momento, no sonrió y parecía triste. El resto del personal fue muy amable y educado. El segundo día tuvimos un problema con el calentador de agua en la habitación; aparentemente no funcionaba bien, pero nos dieron una habitación de categoría superior. No tuvimos ningún problema con la nueva habitación. El desayuno es excelente, la propiedad está bien mantenida y están realizando mejoras en algunas partes del hotel. Mi estancia fue excelente; definitivamente volveré a este hotel en el futuro. Gracias por su excelente atención y por hacer de nuestras vacaciones unas vacaciones inolvidables.

The manager and some of the staff were friendly, which we appreciated during our stay. We paid for the spa, lunch, and dinner package for our 5-day visit, and overall enjoyed the amenities. On our last day, we decided to purchase a few drinks offsite to enjoy by the pool. However, a waiter approached us rather rudely, stating that he would “let us finish our last drink” but would not tolerate outside beverages at the pool. While we understand the policy, the way it was addressed felt unnecessary and left a poor impression on our final day. I do not think we will stay there again.

The hotel overall was great. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were a little old & plain. We did observe portions of the hotel closed for refurbishing. The breakfast & dinner were excellent. Including entertainment from the monkeys. The staff was wonderful especially Kevin the cart driver. He always seemed to be present when needed.

Great place to stay. As people have mentioned the hills on the property are very steep. It’s also a little dated in the rooms. However if you want some delusion and a great staff it’s a great place to stay. Thanks everyone!

We enjoyed our stay at Shana, the monkeys that live in the trees nearby being regular visitors to the hotel pool and balconies.

There is easy access to the beach from the hotel. The pool bar offers 2-4-1 drinks every afternoon and serves very good Woodfired pizzas, burgers, steaks and local cuisine.

The small town of Manuel Antonio is around 0.5mike up a steep track, but taxis were easy enough to arrange from the hotel to there and further afield into Quepos.

Watching the sunset from the pool bar with pina colada was memorable.

Def didn't feel 4*. Hard beds and poor pillows.
Staff were excellent and friendly.

The resort is definitely nice. The staff is EXCELLENT! They are so nice and accommodating.
The reasons why I wouldn’t stay there again are due to our preferences.
Everything is very far away. To get from the room to restaurant, pool, etc you have to walk outdoors on a big hill. Nothing is convenient at this resort. To get to the beach you literally have to hike. It’s a beautiful hike but not very relaxing.
If you stay here, make sure you have a car because there isn’t anything within comfortable walking distance.

The monkeys were great to see every day.

Our stay at Shana was amazing. From the front desk, to the staff at breakfast and the restaurant and our room. Cant wait to return to Shana!!

we visited the hotel 2 years ago first time it was perfect, now it looks worn out, ongoing renovation makes it even more uncomfortable

Very nice hotel, pool areas were also very nice. Enjoyed the restaurant for the breakfast buffet, all of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Amazing location, great on site restaurant, and wonderful staff. The private beach access was a nice touch too.

Very nice property, however it is built on a STEEP incline, so if you have any difficulties walking, think twice

The hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly and ready to help. The facilities were well kept and very easy access to the town.

You can’t beat chilling in the pool with a drink in hand while watching a sloth climbing a tree, toucans singing, and macaws flying overhead. Nor does anything beat the monkey visit on the balcony.

Also Javier in the restaurant is THE MAN.
