Great location to all amenities. Including train and bus stations.
But, unfortunately for me the food at meal times let me down. It was not to my expectations. I thought I would be served Italian style menu. But this was not the case. So if you are expecting an italian evening meal , then this not the hotel to spend your vacation.
Fruit salad- bunch of grapes( not fresh) grotty grapes!!
I had a awful surprise this evening. I ordered the potato croquet ( well surposed to be potato croquetwith cheese, as stated on the menu clearly) turned out the croquet ( example of a non italian dish) may I add.
Contained ham!!! As a vegetarian I was astonished!! And disgraced that my potato croquet cantained HAM Ahhh!!!!
I approached the waiters and they laughed as they didn't take me seriously. Flabbergasted by there reaction I approached the manager. Who apologised and offered me another meal at 9pm. I replied and told them "No Thankyou.
I asked them how has this happeded?".
They replied when they order the food in, they don't know what the food contains" worrying in itself!!
True story!!!
Even though the menu cleary ssys > potato croquets
Is a good alternative in Sorrento
The ocean is not visible from our room, only the roof top.
Exceptional breakfast with hot and cold foods, lot of pastries.
The one drawback is the lack of sufficient outlet plugin. There was only one plug-in in the whole room including bathroom.
Very convenient location, 10-12 minutes walk to Piazza Tasso.
Clean comfortable hotel in very convenient location, fantastic views from rooftop bar area, great breakfast and great value.
No kettle in room for tea coffee was a mild disappointment, overall I'd highly recommend.
Awesome and friendly staff
I wake up in the morning with a bed full of dead ants while I was asleep, the night stand had hundreds of them, I took a video of it and showed it to front desk and they took care of it, Also had hard time to check in I guess its an Italy thing dont check in anyone before the clock tick the min it say check in time, the shower, bathroom and sleeping area are all ceramic tile and its very very slippery
Overall very good, very close to coast, station, and centre of town. Room was clean, bathroom was good, shower had great water pressure, there were lovely views from floor six roof top bar. The lack of flexibility on breakfast times was a drawback - they need to be picked in advance , and were not changeable when we asked.
We had an excellent stay at La Meridiana. Hotel and room was very clean, beautiful sea view from the balcony. There is roof terrace which has amazing views over the bay of Naples perfect for relaxing.
Food at the hotel was plentiful, we stayed half board and really enjoyed breakfast and dinner, lots of choice and very good portion sizes.
There is a bar on the roof terrace and in hotel lobby drinks were very reasonably priced and enjoyed looking at the views from the roof terrace with an Aperol Spritz.
Staff are very friendly.
The hotel is in a perfect location ten minute walk from the main square and bars and restaurants, easy access to the harbour and the train/ bus station. There are also shops, bars and restaurants nearby if you didn’t wish to go to the main area of Sorrrento.
We had a perfect week in Sorrento and when we visit again we would definitely stay at the La Meridiana, it is a lovely small and friendly hotel.
Excellent hotel, very clean and the staff are really friendly. The food was amazing and plenty of choice at breakfast too.
We had a great stay, staff was very helpful. Only recomendation to clean the air vents in both the bedroom and bathroom.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was nice the night person Vittorio went above and beyond... also conveniently located my personal recommendation is be very very careful I would not suggest trying to take taxi cabs they completely rip you off this has nothing to do with the hotel but my opinion if you stay here is Rent A Car or walk to areas that are close by... do not take taxis to the airport they will price gauge you
Excellent run for your money
Very good location, just a 5-10mins walk to old town, 5 mins from train station and only 15 min walk to ferries. Lovely comfortable room, very good breakfast, the only criticism was when you leave your room need to take your room key (you only get one) out of wall that controls lights and air conditioner. So, you come back to a warm room, not the best on very hot days but not a major problem. I would definitely stay again.
.
The hotel is lovely and is a great base for exploring Sorrento and the surrounding area. The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. We were half-board and found the food plentiful and varied - always something for everyone. I would recommend highly!
Our overall stay was satisfactory. However check in was disappointing as parking for our van was not provided although TWO parking spaces were reserved. Forced to park off the premises in public parking
Very clean property , friendly staff. walkable to the train station in sorrento.
This was a small but nice hotel however the night staff wasn’t very friendly or helpful
We couldn’t get a steamer the whole 5 days we were there, we were always told one wasn’t available. It’s awful to go out all wrinkly
We recently returned from a 7 night stay at the Hotel. I would concur with the previous reviews in relation to its cleanliness and excellent location. Our room was a superior room on the 4th with excellent views of the bay, a sun trap on the afternoon and awesome sun sets. I booked this hotel as a surprise return to Sorrento to celebrate our 20th year wedding anniversary as we hadn’t been back since our wedding at the Cloisters. The breakfast was very good offering a continental choice as well as a cooked option. We ate dinner but settled for the starter and sometimes the dessert. It was too much for us as the local cuisine is plentiful and delicious. We couldn’t help ourselves with our immersion into during our visit. Connolo, pizza and ice cream - wow!! We thought the staff were pleasant and helpful especially reception and the waiting staff. My wife was particularly amused by the one who resembled Louie Spence - apparently.
All in all we were pleasantly surprised by our visit at the Hotel and would consider a return should we ever visit Sorrento again as it’s a perfect base for a City break and exploring the area.
Lovely hotel situated close to town, about 13 minutes walk with accessible routes to buses however these get really crowded and mostly standing only, and accessible for ferry and boat trips using the lift and train station not far away.
Room was great, with amazing views over the lemon groves, go for a room with a balcony. Beds were comfortable however pillows are quite hard, which is ok if you like it that way. Equipped with hairdryer and mini fridge - although the mini fridge has a mini bar in and you will be accountable to pay the hotel what you use from there.
We received some small toiletries such as soap
Breakfast at the hotel is good it ranges of cooked to crossiants, pastries, cheese, ham, fruit, cereal etc.
Now down to the not so good bits;
1. The dinner is not good at all and wouldn’t recommend it you have to choose what you want in the morning and the position sizes are rather big but it’s very much the same. If you have the later dinner slot time, then it seems your food is kept in a hot plate.
2. You are constantly watched when eating and makes me feel uncomfortable by the staff, then when not finished asked by the staff is it ok ? You no like it ?
3. One man who works at the restaurant constantly stirs the food which I think under health and safety food hygiene should not be allowed, also he mixes up the food especially pastries so other people with allergies could be contaminated.
Overall it’s a nice hotel but food and restaurant needs to be looked at I would say more 2 stars than 3 stars and is ridiculous how much you pay and then have to eat out. Only consider this if you like pasta every night or something cheap
