Location was excellent, right in town and 20 minutes walk to the Old Town & Fort Jesus. Decor was pleasant, nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool, nice bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Von Anfang bis zum Ende war bei unseren Aufenthalt alles super. Hervorzuheben ist das Personal, welches absolut nett, höflich und sehr zuvorkommend war. Beim nächsten Mombasa Aufenthalt kommt nur dieses Hotel infrage.
Das Wasser bei der Morgendusche war kalt.
Old historic vibe
Inflexibility of not being able to change to higher floor
The food was full of flavour, the staff was attentive to our needs. The frames in the hotel gave a picture of old Mombasa a nice touch.

I travelled solo and felt very safe and looked after by the super friendly staff. Good food, great breakfasts. The historic building has been tastefully updated. Right in the heart of Mombasa island, great for exploring Old Town. The rooms are lovely, spotlessly clean, marked down slightly by traffic noise but that is Mombasa! The pool is small but great to have nonetheless. Sun loungers were lovely. All in all I would whole heartedly recommend at very good value.
Location walked everywhere especially to Jesus Fort area and easy tuk tuk ride back if needed
I read other comments and now I agree they need to put mini fridges in rooms so you can keep things cool and fresh

The hotel is rundown. Needs lot of renovation. Location is good but facilities are very poor. Not worth the price. Or close down or turn it into a guest house. The name sentrim royal is completely inappropriate for a lousy dump
Except for the location everything else is rundown
Have been visiting this hotel since last 5 years. A 100 year old hotel which was at one time a gem on old kilindini road . What a far cry it is now from what it was . Completely rundown with mediocre food .
I had hoped that after my last review in 2025 the place would have improved but sadly it has deteriorated even more . Such a prime location . If Sentrim wants they can return this hotel to its past glory . The location is prime centrally located . But all the rest is very very mediocre .

I recommend this hotel and restaurant. I have been visiting the restaurant especially for about a couple years now. The staff are super nice, always going the extra ole to make guests feel welcomed. Great facilities, very clean and well maintained. Extra thanks to Caroline and Ivy for their help today.
