Nice Boutique Hotel
Pros:

Such an amazing hotel. Loved the boutique aspect of it. the decor of the rooms were fun and funky. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was nice and hot with great water pressure. We arrived after hours and the hotel was great about communicating how to check in and get to our room. Additionally, we had just spent the last few days hiking and they allowed us to complimentary store our luggage and even had it waiting in the room for us! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. Breakfast was amazing as well with a great selection of breads, toppings, meat/cheese, eggs (hard boiled), fruit and coffee. They also had complimentary wine, beer, sparkling water and confectionary in the lobby at all hours which was nice. Close to downtown and easily walkable. 10/10 would recommend!

One of our favourite stays on our trip to NZ.
Pros:

We had two separate nights here which bookended our time down in Fiordland and was nice to have a little bit of luxury after walking the Milford track. The evening happy hour which provides guests with the opportunity to mingle and share their adventures is a welcome touch too.

Cons:

No cons noted.

Great location, comfortable rooms, very good breakfast.
Pros:

Nice staff. Good breakfast. Great lounge with snacks, happy hour, comfy chairs.

Cons:

Toilet was leaking and the constant noise kept us awake at night. We informed the staff who seemed a bit unconcerned.

Location, location, location!
Pros:

If The Dairy was for sale, the estate agents would be shouting ‘location, location, location’! Because that is the hotel key feature for guests. Accessibility to shops, stores, restaurants and the gondola is second to none. The hotel itself is a little tired, but is well run. Our room could have been bigger (particularly if you have two suitcases) and the ‘shower in the bath’ a bit passé. But bed and linen were good, the lounge comfortable, and the ‘happy hour’ a nice twist. Continental breakfast was rather underwhelming, with croissant with ham and cheese the only (and not particularly nice) croissant offering. Fresh fruit salad would have been a good idea. But overall, we were happy with our stay.

Lovely hotel in a great location.
Pros:

The room was large with a medium sized bathroom. The decor in the hotel was very groovy and pleasing. They have a free happy hour with wine, beer and nibbles between 5 and 6 in the common area which again very pleasing. There is also free tea, coffee and sweets in this area.

Cons:

The bathroom needs a little renovation.

Nearly but not quite!
Pros:

An interesting and quirky hotel well situated for the town and the gondola station. Very friendly staff and a lovely afternoon snack!
However the double room whilst comfortable was small with little space for large cases and with no views from the windows. In one room the wardrobe door could not fully open.

Room 3, not the best but the staff are!
Pros:

Our room had a poor view which was disappointing as we'd hoped to see the lake - we also didn't like the shower being over a bath (which was chipped)

The staff were all extremely friendly & very helpful, even allowing us to leave our luggage overnight whilst we stayed on a boat at Milford Sound. The lounge area is gorgeous!
