Staybridge Suites Gulf Shores by IHG

We got locked out of our room and it took them over 2 hours to resolve the issue. My son missed his baseball game and they promised me 10000 reward points and as of today I have not received them.

The TV in the bedroom didn't work. The pull out bed was awful! My kids could feel the bars on the bed. They ended up sleeping on tje floor.

The front desk was not manned. We had to wait quite some time for check in. We received our room key & made it to elevator. The one elevator for the whole hotel is slow, small, hot & smells awful. We made it to our floor. The amount of food & garbage in the hallways was disgusting. There was a used plunger sitting in the hallway for the first 24 hours of our stay. Right outside our room door, there was French fries on the floor with a ton of garbage. There were dishes in the dishwasher. I did not go on vacation to do someone else's dishes. Speaking of dishes, they provided 3 plates, 2 bowls, 1 fork, 3 spoons & 17 butter knives. The king bed was not made properly. The fitted sheet was literally thrown on top of mattress. There was pubic hair & candy wrapper on the floor of the water closet. The floor by the sink & mirror was visibly filthy. I cleaned with a white rag to show front desk and it was black & covered in hair. The vents were covered in mold. It was so disgusting. When issues were brought up to staff, they were uninterested & bothered. I have pictures for proof.

Breakfast was good, we liked how the rooms were clean and had a place to wash and dry cloths just the out door area by pool and barbecue pits needed a little up keep the barbecue pits were not in working conditions, no cushions on the chairs in that area and most of the loungers by pool were ripped other than that the stay was decent.

I booked 2 rooms and only 1 was ready when we got there. After driving 17+ hours that was pretty annoying. I had to wait for my other room to be ready. It seemed to be the problem for many other guests as well. The hotel was short on housekeeping. Our room was only cleaned once out of 7 nights. We had to ask for extra towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. The 1 elevator they had was extremely slow and busy constantly. There was also a pretty big storm that hit during our stay and we lost power for about 30 minutes. Which I get things happen but the generator that they have outside did not kick on immediately.

Pool was a little small and had not been cleaned. Way too many dogs allowed on property for my liking and guests above me were loud and we could hear stomping and noise until 2AM

From the desk very rude. We arrived early and check in to see how soon room would be ready. The desk clerk said it should be ready by 230 or 3 at the latest. I can call you when it's ready. I said great. We came back to the property at 345. The desk clerk asked another employee I guess he was however he had no name tag on and dressed unprofessional. He said no check ins until 4. So there were 4 couples hanging out in the lobby waiting for 4 pm. Someone comes in to check in and he checks in no problem. We all just look at each other. Then at 355 she let's the rest of us check in. We get to our room and housekeeping left a couple spray bottles in our room. I sa a housekeeper in the hallway and asked how long has the room been cleaned and she said before lunch.
