Marriott Courtyard Daphne/Eastern Shore
I’m writing this to warn other travelers about this property. It is not a safe place:
I was recently a guest at a property that appears to be owned and managed by Commonwealth Hotels.
I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for over 20 years staying at Marriott properties whenever possible.
My recent stay was without doubt the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel let alone a Marriott property which I
expect to have a high standard of guest service and care.
During my week long stay, I had a prescription drug stolen from my room during a cleaning on Wednesday of my stay. Upon investigation by hotel staff, I was told that the manger of housekeeping cleaned my room.
I made the property manger aware of the theft of my prescription sleeping pills and was told that it simply did not happen and that the manger of housekeeping could not have done this because she informed the manager that she had not taken the pills.
As ridiculous as this is since no one else had been in my room except for me and the housekeeping manager, I was made to feel as if I was the one at fault for the theft. The property manager failed to get back to me and only emailed me after repeated emails to her Marriott email address.
In addition to this, the property was under renovation and there was quite a lot of noise and dust during my stay. No mention was made of this upon checkin or prior to checkin. It should have been disclosed and rooms discounted due to the additional irritation of noise and dust.
The property manager did finally negotiate a partial return of my Bonvoy points used to pay for the stay. I had requested a full refund of my points used which amounted to 79,500 reward points.
Every part of the stay was wonderful from the check-in experience to checkout.
The room had an unpleasant odor that almost smelled like cigarette smoke.
Quiet. Facility in good repair and very clean.
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We loved the location and the restaurant located inside. The food was delicious.
