The air con in the 2 rooms that we tried was useless. In the first room the air con fan was so noisy it sounded like a car alarm. In the second room it was a little quieter but there was no cooling effect. Clearly the air con system above the ground floor has not been serviced or repaired for some time. The staff were not surprised when this was reported. The ceramic floor tiles in the bathroom were loose on the floor and quite dangerous for small children and the glass door scraped on the floor. The breakfast was very basic. No gluten free bread available. On the third day no alternative milk was available. Three of us are dairy free. A failed delivery was the excuse given. The hotel is in the centre of town. How difficult would it have been for them to pop to a shop? Although the staff were polite this does not make up for management that don't care about their customers and are quite happy to advertise accommodation that should be under renovation.

Location

Room 101:-
Needs updating
Toilet door didn’t shut properly as was catching on the floor tiles.
Bath panel in poor cracked condition.
No heating as was under maintenance which we weren’t told about originally.
Owners did provide a heater after we went and mentioned the room being cold.
No teaspoons with tea making facilities.
Staff were great and the location is super central.
Staff were very welcoming
Little dated, but not overly concerned about
I was able to park without any problems. The staff were welcoming and the breakfast was adequate.
The room was a little tired and needs some TLC e.g. the bath outer shell was cracked in two places and there was no plug so couldn’t be used. A couple of the bathroom chrome fixtures were rusty and a sock had been put over the smoke alarm in the bedroom. TV reception was poor and we were only able to see one channel clearly.
Location
No bathroom door
Lack of communication between us and staff
Quaint decor
Hotel is tired
Needs TLC
