Very comfortable stay after a shock 1st impressions
Pros:

Met by a lovely young gentleman was very helpful. Our room was huge with 2 armchairs & a couch made up as a bed too. The bed was a 6 ft very comfortable, bathroom was lovely a bath & separate shower. Breakfast was delicious & very nicely presented.

Cons:

Unfortunately 1st impressions were disappointing it needed a good sweep outside & windows & doors needed to be cleaned, but inside was clean decor was tired but it was beautifully designed & in it’s day was very tasteful done & lovely design.

Would defo stay again!
Pros:

Staff were so lovely, from checking in, to house keeping and even at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. Bed was really comfy and room was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was a full English and continental also available to select from. Breakfast is made fresh to order also. My son is fussy and again nothing was too much trouble. The lady at breakfast was really good with him - also grabbed him a glass of fresh milk as he won’t drink juice. I also like that they have a 24hr mobile that you can call or text and they reply instantly. I was struggling with the window and they replied instantly and solved the issue.

Cons:

Some wear and tear in rooms that need attention just minor things but really need to be dealt with. Holes in walls and crack around the bath.
It was noisy however it is right in the middle of town around all the nightlife so have to accept that it will be. I didn’t like the scent used in the rooms. But that personal preference. Coffee machine in breakfast area was a faff. Car parking was extremely limited on 5 spaces next to hotel. I’d prefer if weekend breakfast was later. Felt like I was rushing and didn’t get much of a lay in.

Not bad at all in the area , in fact I think one of the best in town.
Pros:

Great potential for the town and relatively nicely done but in desperate need of maintenance as things are following apart and it is a shame.

Cons:

No air conditioning units working at all . Various bits of the furniture need attention or refurbishment . And finally last but not least the breakfast need a better chef .

Size of room

Cons:

Bed on wheels without a headboard so couldn't sit up without bed moving.
Minimal pressure in shower, door screen difficult to close and no hand towel.
Very loud music from outside on Fri and Sat night.
Very small breakfast and no real choice.
Front door propped open all the time, even when reception unmanned.
Extremely small cups and messy coffee machine.
Air conditioning not working (but there was a fan).
Couldn't always get a space in tbe carpark.

Pleasant place to stay pity about the night club being to near.
Pros:

The staff were accommodating and friendly.
The restaurant was good.

Cons:

The night club next door kept us awake and our bathroom room door didn’t open properly we couldn’t lock it.

Good hotel choice
Pros:

Big bed, large room, clean, lots of hot water, nice staff.
Big bathroom, bath as well as shower.
Excellent coffee!

Cons:

Weather was hot, but room temperature not helped by small size of window and inability to open very wide. Better 'continental' style breakfast - maybe fruit, breads etc.

It looks as if this hotel is being run by the next door Indian restaurant which is closed (it only had a hygiene rating

The location was good. Room was large.

Cons:

Very noisy, breakfast was very disappointing , not buffet style. I asked for a bacon sandwich and the waiter said he would bring the bacon and I could make it. He then said “will you want one rasher.

Pros:

Excellent value for money, convenient location, lovely staff, breakfast included, rooms cleaned daily. For what you pay it is of a very high standard.

Cons:

Noisy from trains although it didn't really bother me. Could've done with more choice for breakfast but again not a big deal considering it is included in the price which is very low. Room service system is an issue- put through an order online and kitchen didn't receive it.

Location wise it was where wanted to be.

Cons:

Horrific!!! Worst customer service. Went into the restaurant at 0855, was ignored by the staff. When I collared them, they refused to give us breakfast as it was now 0902. Said, we could have the continental that was basically bread and a toaster. Shocking service, rude and poor!!! Stay at the castle, it’s a lot better

Very disappointing. Run down, noisy and unhygienic
Pros:

The staff were friendly when we interacted with them.
The hotel was located quite centrally for Neath shops and restaurants.

Cons:

At time of writing, the on site restaurant where you eat breakfast has a hygiene rating of 1/5.
The hotel is right on a very noisy Trainline that was quite busy.
The Aircon didn't work (not addressed by staff) and we had to have the window shut for the noise so the room got quite hot.
It's advertised as having parking but the tiny lot next to the hotel has about 4-5 spaces so be prepared to maybe park elsewhere.
Breakfast felt quite rushed and they didn't really ask what we wanted.
Bathroom door doesn't shut due to uneven tiles.
Hole in bathroom wall.
Rusted loo brush and loo roll holder which was also broken and wonky.
Paint peeling off ceiling.
Black mould on the shower head.
Light above the bath doesn't work.
Broken dirty bin in bathroom.
The coffee machine at breakfast looks like 8 coffees but you only have two choices.
No sauces to have with breakfast.
