Room size was nice, staff were friendly.
Broken light in room leaving the room dark, no plug for the bath so unable to use! The heating fan was very loud whining noise and to make things even worse at 1 am someone used their key card and walked straight into our room leaving us feeling unsafe and uncomfortable that some other guest can use their room key to open our room!
My girlfriend and I travel here a lot and it's a wonderful hotel with great staff. We are engaged to be married and this was the place we stayed for the first time.
Nothing. Spotless. Only thing I did not like was sadly the restaurant had to go.
Very lovely building the staff were very friendly
Close to Work so the building was ideal
The staff very friendly
The TV in room was ok
I cannot believe that this hotel claims to be 4 star. The room and flooring were not clean (see photos), dust everywhere, cobwebs, mould on bath fittings and shower curtain and dirty cracked tiles in the bathroom and a sock covering the smoke alarm!
No information in room about breakfast and check out times or room service. The only positive was the TV! Definitely avoid this hotel till they seriously deep clean everything. It's a one star hotel at best
Basic facilities
Unclean smell in the hotel, poor staff attitude, lights not working. I checked out an hour after checking in. The hotel then did not reply to booking.com when I enquired about a refund
Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Room was nice. Bathroom was clean. Breakfast included was great value. Coffee machine seems a bit overcomplicated and a little more attention to detail around breakfast would be a good idea.
Bathroom requires substantial attention. Glass door only closed with lots of scraping and noise which is a bit unnerving being glass. Floor tiles are lifting in the bathroom. Bath panel and general maintenance around the bath needs attention.
It was in town
Run by guys who've clearly had no training.
Booked via booking.co. and asked for early check-in in, had an email to say yes. Arrived a little early and was told no!
There is a car park, its filled with 'staff' BMWs, but there is a car park.
Hotel and room are run down, clean (as in hygienic) but old, grubby and worn.
Bed was ok, black out curtains were good, tea and coffee in room- but no spoons.
Room was warm so used the aircon which was noisy.
Toilet fittings were loose and dirty, no handwash/soap, no plug in the sink.
Breakfast was absolutely abysmal!
Met by a guy in a puffer jacket who couldn't even be bothered to say good morning! Asked for a breakfast and beans on toast.
"Continental" options were cornflakes and weetabix so I'd not call it a continental.
Food arrived, beans were cold and told to sort my own toast.
Waiting 15mins for more beans, by then husband had finished and I'd just eaten toast.
3 lads, 2 in regular clothes and one in chef clothes were messing around in the kitchen (visible for the restaurant), playing on phones, grabbing each other etc.
These lads have clearly never had any hospitality training but also clearly couldn't care less about the service they should have been providing.
Breakfast was uncomfortable, poor and overall embarrassing for the staff.
If you do end up staying- there's a great weatherspoons just across the road!!
Overall we'd definitely not stay again. Ive never felt uncomfortable in a hotel but im glad I was travelling with my husband as there's no way I'd have gone to breakfast alone or just with my children.
Room was comfortable and clean.
The size of the room was bigger than many others I have stayed in
Location - very close to the town centre
Breakfast was well cooked, portions were quite small and the options on the Continental Breakfast were limited to sliced bread and cereals
The car parking was very limited
