We enjoyed our stay very much at this nicely pointed Victoria style Bentley hotel - a historic well preserved building. Beautiful check-in Hall and lobby with ornate decorations.
We were upgraded to a spacious junior suite, understandably with no central AC, but equipped with a portable one that keeps us cool. ( Wonder why British hotels are using down comforters during hot summer nights? )
The breakfast area is nice with beautiful dinner wares but lacks variety, the server is very courteous & attentive.
Although it is not located in the city center, it is close to the subway station on Gloucester road surrounded with everything you need. We are very happy and satisfied with our stay.
Lovely afternoon tea experience with good friends and Bala taking care of us. Perfect
Wonderful afternoon tea at Bentley Hotel with friends. Great service by Bala and lovely selection, thank you.
Good hotel in a good location was a good stay at some point soon it’s going to need maintenance and modernising in some of the rooms, but no complaints enjoyed this stay and would definitely go back. Thank you
To start on a positive note, every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful. They were a credit to the hotel, and I cannot fault the service we received from them. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is what let the experience down.
We were able to check in before the advertised 3pm time, which was appreciated.
I booked a stay at The Bentley Hotel in London for my husband's birthday, and I have to say I came away feeling really disappointed, especially considering the price. We paid around **£550** for one night in a Deluxe King room with breakfast included, and sadly it fell far below our expectations.

We were able to check in before the advertised 3pm time, which was appreciated. However, when we entered our room, the first thing we noticed was how dated everything was. The furniture looked very old, the carpets were stained and dirty, and the chairs looked so worn that I was hesitant to sit on them.
The biggest disappointment was the bed. Neither of us slept properly because it was unbelievably hard – genuinely like sleeping on a plank of wood. I could also feel a large spring sticking out at the side of the mattress. For a hotel charging these prices, the bed should be one of the highlights, not one of the worst parts of the stay.
The television also didn't work when we arrived. After looking behind the drawers, we found the plug hanging out and the aerial cable exposed. We had to ask reception to have it fixed because it couldn't even receive BBC One. Thankfully this was sorted while we were out, but it shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.
Another disappointment was discovering that the hotel bar was closed for refurbishment. We had no prior warning of this before our stay, and as we had planned to enjoy a drink there during my husband's birthday trip, it was frustrating.
That evening we ordered food from the World Cup menu, and once again we were disappointed. The nachos arrived without any salsa but with a huge blob of cream cheese on top, which seemed very odd.

That evening we ordered food from the World Cup menu, and once again we were disappointed. The nachos arrived without any salsa but with a huge blob of cream cheese on top, which seemed very odd. The chicken wings were coated in an incredibly salty seasoning that made them almost inedible, and we left most of them. The chicken pizza tasted like a supermarket frozen pizza rather than something freshly prepared in a hotel of this standard.
Breakfast the following morning was, without exaggeration, one of the worst hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Had it not been included, it would have cost **£32 per person**, which is astonishing considering the quality. The sausages were inedible, the bacon was poor, the mushrooms tasted like they had come from a tin and were cold, the baked beans were cold, and the hash browns were soft and soggy. It was genuinely awful.
Overall, I simply cannot believe the quality of both the accommodation and the food given the price charged. The staff were excellent throughout, but the hotel itself feels tired, neglected and nowhere near the standard you would expect from a luxury London hotel. It feels as though guests are paying premium prices without receiving a premium experience.
This was meant to be a special birthday treat for my husband, and sadly we left feeling hugely disappointed. I've stayed in far less expensive hotels that have provided significantly better rooms, food and overall value. It's such a shame because the staff deserve better than the product they're representing.
Had minor crisis while in London and staff were above and beyond in all respects and would not hesitate staying at the Bentley again
The staff from the reception were absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and always helpful.
Far too pricey and quite an old hotel that needs an upgrade. Not worth paying so much money at all. I'm guessing the price is based on the location as opposed to amenities available at the hotel. Overall quite a mediocre hotel.
Whilst not the experience of the famous hotels afternoon tea Peridot at The Bentley provided a relaxing experience in lovely surroundings and very good food. The sandwiches were fresh, the cakes exceptionally good and the scones served warm later on, a touch a lot of hotels fail to do. Bala, who served us was friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. I had a Groupon voucher which was excellent value but the usual price is also good value especially in London. The Bentley is a short walk from the South Kensington museums, making it an excellent place to round off a day of sight-seeing.
This was our first time visiting The Bentley Hotel for afternoon tea, and we came as a family. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like royalty.
A special thank you to Bala, who was absolutely wonderful. She explained everything so clearly, made us feel so welcome, and went above and beyond to cater to our needs. Her friendly and attentive service made our experience even more special.
The food was absolutely delicious, with such a fantastic variety of sweet and savoury treats including different types of sandwiches. Everything was beautifully presented and of an exceptionally high standard. There was so much to enjoy that we left feeling completely satisfied!
We had a truly lovely afternoon and would highly recommend The Bentley Hotel for afternoon tea. We can't wait to visit again
We had a wonderful time, the food was delicious, the room is very cosy, the music is appropriate, Bala was very kind, she gave us an excellent Service.
I will recommend this place.
We had a lovely time. The food was delicious and very fresh. The tea was great, I chose the English Breakfast and it had a very rich flavour.
The environment, the room and the music were great, very calm and relaxing.
Bala was the person in charge and she was lovely, very nice and kind. Overall a great experience!
Old school charm but too much going on with the decor - go to the original settings asap!
Also fix the gym ! It’s 2026
The gym - bathrooms fixtures - toilets horrible!
Beautiful venue very posh and elegant on a quiet and pleasant street. The atmosphere was serene and peaceful within the venue aswell it wasn’t overtly crowded there were a number of diners in the room also but not overwhelming. We had a group booking so enjoyed an extended booking time of 2hours + the staff were extremely pleasant and really friendly and looked after us. The was decent and we enjoyed the ambience which allowed for good conversation. The only thing I would have preferred is for them to bring the scones out at the same time they brought out the sandwiches and the sweet treats and also allow a change of tea for a refill, as the choice was limited with the Groupon voucher
The best hotel experience we have had in London by FAR. The suite was so beautiful, I felt like we were at the ritz or in pretty woman the film. The service was second to none. From check in the staff helped us with everything, I was in a wheelchair and they couldn’t have done more for me if they tried. They upgraded us to a suite which was so kind. The room was beautifully decorated, the beds were so luxurious and comfortable. The hotel entrance smelled gorgeous too. We ordered room service and the pudding was delicious too. I tried the bath and being chronically poorly this was the reason I chose this hotel. It had a jet bath, this helped me so much. I would love to stay again if possible, the expense was a great to stay here but it exceeded expectations. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Bala was amazing, patient and friendly. We really enjoyed our time here.
We went to the Bentley hotel and Bala provided us with great customer service. Very helpful and attentive. Would recommend
