Another great stay !! We have stayed here many times whilst over from England visiting family.we had one night and came back the third night ,breakfast was lovely as always, beds the comfiest ever ,slept so well !! We didn't eat this time in the hotel as we were out eating in portlaois.reception staff were lovely and friendly on both nights ,thanks again ,hope to back in the summer 🌞
Bathroom fan stead on all during the night even when all power was off, cudnt be moved to different as hotel was full so we were told, partner cut her finger badly via a faulty toilet roll dispenser in the communal bathroom, hotel didn't have a proper medical box with cleaning gels that was really poor, price 210 euro for a night to expensive, breakfast was really good, dinner wasn't good and over priced
I booked a 2 night stay with this hotel for my husband's birthday and too be honest we didn't enjoy it at all we both found some of the staff in particular in the bar very rude especially a girl called Audrey we felt like we couldnt relax at all in the bar nearly every table was reserved we were told rudely by this particular girl too move literally just after we finished lunch she gave no explanation didn't ask if we would mind moving just very rudely told us you have too move when my husband said well we are paying guests could we at least let our lunch go down her reply was well talk to Dylan he's in charge not the kind of response we were expecting! As for the room even though it was very clean it had a really bad draft from the window it was freezing only good thing about the room was the bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely the toilet it's self was creaky and loose and other guest were very very loud well after 2am we do realize there was a few functions on but it was extremely loud we definitely don't think it was worth 381 euro very disappointed and feel like my husband's birthday was ruined as we couldn't relax and rewind like we hoped too.
I had such a wonderful stay at the Killeshin Hotel while attending the Bariatric Bash in Ireland.
From the very beginning, the communication with the hotel was excellent. I was travelling solo from London and had some concerns about transfers and getting to the hotel on my own. When I mentioned this, the team kindly sent me helpful links and information that made planning my journey much easier and really put my mind at ease.
I’d especially like to mention Natalia at reception. She was the person who had been emailing me beforehand with the transport information, and when I arrived she greeted me and introduced herself as the one I had been speaking with. That small moment meant so much and immediately made me feel comfortable and welcomed.
The staff throughout the hotel were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Natalia also made sure I had a room very close to the lift, which I really appreciated as my disability can affect my mobility at times and it meant I didn’t have to worry about walking too far.
I was initially given an accessible room, but I mentioned that I was hoping to have a bath during my stay. Natalia kindly arranged for my room to be changed straight away without any issue, which I really appreciated.
The hotel itself is beautiful, and the spa facilities are fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, and the gym is also very well equipped. The bar staff were wonderful as well – friendly, welcoming, and added to the overall lovely atmosphere of the hotel.
As someone travelling alone and managing a disability, I truly felt supported and comfortable during my stay. The kindness and professionalism of the staff made this trip feel easy and enjoyable.
Thank you to everyone at the Killeshin Hotel for such a lovely experience – I would absolutely stay again.
We had an enjoyable stay over all. Spacious rooms. A little rough around the edges But very clean. The pool/steam room areas were extremely well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed that.
Unfortunately the bar area was limited as a private event was being held and we found this unfair to residents who have paid to stay in a hotel and then be limited to a small area for drinks. . The only area available to us was downstairs. It lacked the decor and atmosphere that we enjoyed at other sohotels like castletroy. It felt cramped and had uncomfortable bar stools.
What saved this bar for us was the food. We enjoyed exceptional steaks and desserts and delicious freshly made cocktails. Highly recommend eating there but I would not for pints/drinks only. If you want a traditional or relaxed bar I would go to a local bar perhaps . This hotel is not in the town centre so keep that in mind.
Breakfast was also delicious. Fresh. Great options from pancakes/pastries to Irish breakfast (yummy) to eggs Benedict to smashed avocado.... I could go on but hopefully you see they have everything on offer.
The only thing we did not like at breakfast was there is an additional charge if you want a barista coffee at breakfast. Like a latte. There is filtered coffee included. But not fresh coffee.
Again we didn't have to pay extra charges at breakfast in other sohotels for this. We feel €185 for 1 nights B&B in standard double in off season ( end of February) should not have additional charges like this. It's a bit of a let down when ordering in the morning.
Lastly Julie at reception checked us out. Another polite professional member of staff. In fact every member of staff we met during our stay was friendly and welcoming.
Had a lovely one night stay to celebrate a family birthday. Meal in restaurant was fabulous, as was the breakfast. Special mention for Deirdre in reception, who was really warm and welcoming. Would definitely go back again.
Enjoyed my stay at the Killeshin Hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly, parking convenient. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection available, bit pricey as I hadn't included it when booking. Hope to return soon.
Great for hospital. Room great and clean. Breakfasts very good and food served to table was hot and tasty with lovely service. The dinner was very good too. Great staff too.
Good experience. Went for a family birthday party. Would recommend the hotel. Deirdre behind reception was very nice and helpful.
It was a four hour drive from home to this hotel. We left early as we wanted to see the Ireland vs England 6 Nations rugby match. I had sent an email to this effect.
On the road we got a call from Deidre Horan at the hotel reception telling us we could get our room early. She could not have been nicer and when we met her in person shortly after the call, she was just as lovely.
They say First Impressions matter, well this one certainly did.
Lovely hotel, reception staff were all very nice, as were bar staff. Food was awesome, rooms lovely and clean. Had food the first night in the bar, but found the room very cold and not as inviting as lounge or restaurant. Breakfast was wonderful and the man that served us was excellent. Also availed of the pool and jacuzzi which was nice too. Thank you all
It was a bit far out of town there was no atmosphere at all in the hotel the rooms were lovely the value of the night package was good the hotel was clean when we're in the room on Saturday nite there was a knock on the door when we answered it there was nobody their the food was excellent I wasn't expecting the bar 2 be closed in the evening time 4 food we just wanted 2 sit in the bar and have a few drinks
Stayed in the Killeshin hotel for a weekend. Had a really pleasant stay. Was made welcome from the minute I stepped foot in the hotel. Arrived a little early and was still allocated a room. Receptionist was friendly and efficient. The room had all you would need, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice. Had dinner on one night and it was top class. There are 2 shops close to the hotel if you want to buy snacks or drinks. Underground parking was free with plenty of spaces. There was a really relaxed atmosphere in the hotel and we were very happy with our stay.
Hit and miss with the dinning as far as the food and service, be prepared to wait and you don't always get what you have ordered.
While some staff were very helpful and accomadating other staff , were very unprofessional and need to be retrained in customer care.
While staying at the Killeshin l observed a two tiered quality of service throughout my stay,
Ester at the reception is a credit to the hotel a very professional helpful polite friendly staff member while Nina definitely needs to be retrained in listening to what the customer has requested because she seems to have her own agenda and does the complete opposite as to what has been requested with a smile which is very condescending, and this l am speaking on behalf of 4 of us on the training course experience while interacting with her.
Don Aíden Ray Robyn Helena Kate are most helpful accomadating and willing to go that bit extra to make sure we were looked after.
The bar staff hit & miss, Adam was very dismissive and not willing to give his presious slices of lemon when we asked to put in the water unless you have gin as he told us he only had enough for the customers purchasing, while we were purchasing wine, l was very disappointed l wasn't offered a brandy glass while drinking brandy, l was given a tumbler glass not even a nice one at that. I was told they keep them for the restaurant l declined to purchase any more.
The breakfast was only ok, very basic for a four star, quite a small area for the buffet bar and quality not great. I have experienced better in 3star hotels. The seating area in the bar and restaurant are very tired and worn and also stained looking and definitely need to be upholstered. The restaurant was very cold and a terrible draft by the patio doors, they definitely need to be upgraded.
The swimming pool area is tired, not very clean the bins were full at 4.30pm in the ladies on the occasions l used the pool., the towel basket is outside the changing area not convenient at all.
there is no seating in the shower rooms for the disabled to sit while showering, there is no private cubicle to get changed either, while l was there 3 parents had there young boys with them and l felt uncomfortable changing while they watched on. Beware it is a shared changing area.
The jacuzzi is very small at a squeeze you would get 3-4 people, be prepared to be up close and not ideal for comfort.
The steam room and sauna are adequate.
I would definitely knock a star off, I'd say the only reason it gets a 4star because of the facilities and be aware lots of conferences take place there.
It's a shame it could before a very nice inviting hotel, but for now it isn't.
One bit of valid advice please train your staff to assist older customers struggling with luggage on entry from the front door as its a turnstile entrance and not remote therefore awkward getting in and out with baggage, on two occasions coming and going l wasn't offered assistance either by the reception staff while the area wasn't busy upon my arrival when clearly l was struggling and the male staff standing around didn't come to my assistance. In fact a customer kindly offered as he could see my situation.

Very good food , traveled a long journey and so nice for change to arrive and the room is warm recently have stayed in a number of hotels for work and the rooms have been cold . Staff in restaurant very friendly especially the tall black haired girl . Great parking out the back .
Nice location-central for those travelling from different parts of the country.Nice friendly atmosphere and efficient staff.Rooms spacious and comfortable.
Really good rate for a night stay and breakfast, which was tasty. Lovely staff, lovely room. Enjoyed my stay.
We always enjoy staying at this hotel. Lovely staff , lovely meal in the bar area. Great pool. Fine breakfast, buffet and/or hot food. Lovely staff. We shall return.
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. Our first time at this hotel. Easy to access from Cork. Very nice relaxed atmosphere. Room was spacious, quiet with a bath as requested. 2 double beds. Very clean, cleaned and restocked with tea/coffee, milk, biscuits, towels etc daily. The food was nice and really enjoyed the leisure complex. Staff professional and friendly. Good value. Will definitely be back.
Lovely Hotel, Fantastic food and great staff with great choice at the breakfast buffet .You pass Kildare Village on the way so you can get some shopping in as well
