*We were not told either when booking online or check in there was a event on where music was being played that loud you could tell what song was being played. When I addressed this with the staff member I was told 'that after you made the booking you should have called to check if anything was on?' I advised that I have stayed in other hotels had never had to do that. It was a major fob off. They were more interested in the event that was on than the issues I was raising.
*There was black mould in the shower (photo attached). This is so unacceptable on so many reasons especially for those with existing health issues.
*There was broken furniture in the room (photos attached)
*The decor needs a major update as the room would a 1990s throw back.
*There is a rail in the shower which makes it very difficult to get in and out.
*The door to the bathroom needs to be fixed (photo attached)
*We found chocolate wrapper on the floor from the previous people who were in there (photo attached)
*The carpets need a massive deep clean.
*The room was not worth what we paid because of what I have written. Room needs a major update.
Couple staying. Nice setting, very dated rooms, circa 1980s. Broken desk chair, pieces of rubbish under seat, part of the desk falling to bits. Black Mould in corner of bath. Room 6. Hotel room door from the ark and not very secure. Extremely noisy with blaring music due to functions on until very late. Staff not too interested. Reception did not inform this prior, so not good. Spent all evening with headphones. This hotel used to be good, but gone down in my own view. I would not advise a stay here, but dining room and restaurant is ok by all accounts.
Staff, room, and view and location
Nothing i didn't like,
This is an exceptionally lovely hotel set in a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and helpful they did everything to make our stay memorable. We will definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and have already started planning our next visit.
The view from this hotel is spectacular looking over the Firth of Forth , a short walk to a small town with lots of nice shops and a beautiful beach .
Food and lovely view's.
Nothing.
it was just so relaxing ,,staff amazing,,the owner dal definitely makes you feel comfortable and looks after you ,,the food is amazing and great selection of drinks , definitely be back xx
The clean rooms through out and the friendly staff
Nothing
A nice experience! Staff was friendly and the view was nice! The carpets in the rooms NEED to be cleaned however, they were pretty gross. Overall, a nice stay for a few nights
Upon arrival we could tell that the hotel was tired but we went ahead with the check-in, hopeful that the rooms would be decent.
We headed up to our room and the hotel was incredibly dated and needed an upgrade for sure. We opened the bedroom door and ny heart sank - the carpet was dirty, stained. The furniture was scruffy and the table was broken. There was scuffs on the wall, a previous guest's toothbrush was sticking out from under one of the beds, the carpet was unhoovered. I couldnt take my shoes off. I refused to unpack. This was a £200 hotel stay and after a 4 hour drive, my heart sank. Heaven forbid someone have standards!
The only positive was the staff were lovely, funny and friendly, but when im staying somewhere, the cleanliness and standards mean more to me.
The building, the decor, the lack of cleanliness.
The owner and staff
Slightly run down from when we were last there
