Great staff and location

Location and setting and great customer service

Cons:

Our room smelt of stale smoke, so window remained open, therefore outside operational noises heard during the night. We know it is an older hotel but the creaking floor boards within our bathroom and outside in the corridor was quite loud especially when trying to be respectful of other guests at night.

Excellent location, lovely little getaway
Pros:

Very kind staff, beautiful location, and nice room. This hotel was a hidden gem if you're looking for a quiet getaway.

Getting an uber and taxi from that location was hard.

Adequate for one night
Pros:

Easy to get to, friendly staff, room was ok but no breakfast included in the price, you are given pre order breakfast forms, or you pick and pay for what you want.

Cons:

Not much choice of food and everything served with chips and peas apart from the 3 curries on offer. Our room faced the main road, traffic noise which was fairly constant up to about 10pm then started again about 5 am so not the best sleep.

L’hôtel a de grandes chambres avec une belle vue. Le petit déjeuner est correct mais pas de petit déjeuner continental.

Cons:

Nous somme arrivés un mercredi soir et nous avons eu du mal à nous garer. En effet, une fête était organisée dans l’hôtel (18 ans d’une personne). Arrivés dans la chambre, le sol et les murs vibraient à cause de la musique qui était à fonds juste en dessous de notre chambre. Le personnel nous a indiqué que la musique s’arrêtait à 23h, ce qui a bien été le cas. Il ne faut juste pas arrivé dans cet hôtel fatigué en espérant s’endormir tôt.

No complaints from us. Lovely stay thank you.
Pros:

Large, clean room with great views across to Edinburgh. Staff were great and a special mention goes to the waiter in the restaurant and the breakfast waiter. Really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fab. The only negative is please don't skimp on toilet paper. That fear of your finger going through causes great anxiety. Spend a little more on quality roll! Parking at the nearby station was easy which makes this place a great base for visits to Edinburgh.

loud music till 2300 hrs . Drove from south wales to have a relaxing holidy. Dirty room unfriendly staff. And they chnaged my room without letting me know and gave it to someone else.

Pros:

Llegamos mas tarde del check in por una gran retraso en el vuelo. Intentamos hablar con ellos pero no fue posible. Y teníamos miedo de no tener alojamiento esa noche. Nos dejaron la habitación preparada y la llave dentro. Al llegar había un teléfono para llamar y nos dieron instrucciones. Fueron muy amables. Estar en dos habitaciones comunicadas, es muy cómodo para una familia.

Noise!!!!
Unfortunately:
1. The noise from the road and railway right outside the hotel was extremely disturbing overnight, keeping us awake much of the night
2. The hotel had arranged a party/disco until 11pm, which was very loud and banging right under our room. We had a very busy day and came back to the hotel for dinner and an early night, which was ruined by the noise.

The manager did apologise but couldn't move us as the hotel was full.
If we had been warned at booking, we would not have booked the hotel.
If we had been told on arrival, we would have stayed out later.
It was very disappointing, and the hotel refused compensation but did refund us for the next nights stay, which we cancelled.
So overall, very poor.
Booking.com were helpful in confirming the refund for the second night but couldn't convince the hotel for compensation.
