Daylight robbery
Pros:

I chose this hotel for my 70th birthday celebration party on the afternoon of the 14th of June 2026 and wish I hadn’t.
I was charged £750 for my buffet for 60 people and it was a disgrace. I got 1 platter of the cheapest, tiniest round quiches, I platter of small sausage rolls and 4 of sandwiches, that was it! I was embarrassed beyond belief, the owner said there was no more food, my guests ( who actually turned out to be only 49, due to last minute cancellations) were scared to take much in case there wasn’t enough for others. 4 of my guests were under 6 and I was charged the same for them as adults, £12.590 per head, ridiculous! I was further charged £75 for electric for the band, only told this 1 week before, ! If I had put sprinkles in my table it was £100 to hoover them up! If I wanted the kitchen to cut my cake, which I supplied myself it would cost £30!
I appreciate I got the venue at no charge but the bar was open and the prices were high so they would have made from that too.It totally spoilt my 70 years on the planet, they should be ashamed, I could have done the buffet for a maximum of £100 and whilst I understand there are staff and overheads to be payed, it was nothing short of daylight robbery.
Big shout out though to Lewis, the young man on the bar, all my guests loved him.
This hotel has lively vies but that doesn’t make up for the taking of a pensioner’s money for such a poor experience.
Picture is with my son who came up from London to share in my special day

Fitted the occasion .
Pros:

Location (wedding at Sands) Parking easy. Staff all very pleasant and helpfull.

Cons:

Room 14 is an invalid double room which nobody advised us of although we were probably latish in reserving through Booking.com., so fitments were located accordingly. Could hear the people in the room above us moving about. Shower flooded the floor.

Disgusting
Pros:

Absolutely nothing

Cons:

Disgusting conditions. We booked in and booked straight back out again for our own health reasons. The smell is the first thing you experience as soon as you enter the building and also don’t read the fake reviews as had done. £150 down the drain. Also disgusted with booking.com the way they handled it after our complaint. I would never book through them again,

Not worth for the money you paid
Pros:

The location was nice over looking the sea.

Cons:

Very old building not renovated. Room was unclean with old dirty carpets, mold in the bathroom. Felt very dirty. Asked for a double bed and was given 2 single beds pushed together and we had a baby. We had to keep her on the bed as there was no cot even though we requested it. We wanted to order room service but it was £5 per person to get the food to the room. Which I think is unreasonable price.

teleurstellend
Pros:

kamer op zich was prima

Cons:

Disgusting
Pros:

First impressions were not good as soon as I opened the front door to the reception if you can call it that , a small hole in the wall. Not you usual reception are which are normally warm and welcoming. As soon as I opened the door my heart sank and the smell from the matted damp carpets throughout the whole hotel was overwhelming and right into the bedroom. We went back down the stairs to see where we could possibly sit and have a drink but there was nowhere that was suitable. They had a bar but the barman said it would only be opened to 8pm but that was only if they had customers so basically there was nowhere to chill at night apart from sitting in our depressing room. As far as hotels are concerned this falls way below standards and by the way the hotel manager had no input in this review so be wary what you read . So what happened next you’ll be wondering, well we headed back upstairs to our room, grabbed our bags and handed the keys back in . I said to the person the hotel wasn’t suitable and we left and he obviously was speechless and then we left . I wouldn’t anyone to book this place in a million years and we were only there ten minutes. The thought of staying in those rooms and with the overwhelming damp smell was not for us . To sum it all up . It’s a hotel that absolutely has nothing, no panoramic views no nothing. Book it at your peril. All the way from Glasgow and £150 out of pocket. A disgrace of a place, still angry.
