The location is central, close to everything but the island is anyway not that big
Checkin welcome was nice.

They make a big deal of towels and the ones you get are run down
Shower is somewhat outdated and small. Bath is awkward with the low roof slope over it.

A beautiful structure to be better managed
Pros:

The main structure is in a beautiful position with amazing view from the restauarant and from the rooms
Buffet breakfast and dinner with quite good choices
The pick up from the ferry terminal went well
The family lodge at Union Estate was very spacious and front see/ on the beach

Cons:

The family lodge we where given was 1km far from the structure which means that any time for breakfast or after dinner we needed to cycle from/back for 7/8 mins which is of course uncomfortable especially with 2 babies needing to cycle themselves and if it rains.. your problem!) - so basically it s like being in an apartment somewhere else, not in the hotel, and this is not clear when you choose the room option/ it s written "union estate" but who knows what it means from the other part of the world!
The lodge was spacious but very simple - not even a light on the side beds, the towels were very bad quality (close to plastic, didn't dry at all!) and the wifii connection working poorly.
In the structure the wifii connection was very poor / absent - working literally only in the lobby; the pool is quite dangerous for the babies cos the full edge is painted with a very slippery paint.
This is the first place in 2 weeks where we find unkind personnel, maybe the structure itself has some problems that is also perceived by the people working there.

Außen hui, innen pfui — für den Preis eine Enttäuschung
Pros:

Die Lage direkt am Strand ist wirklich schön und das Highlight der gesamten Anlage. Zur Begrüßung gab es eine Flasche Sekt — eine nette Geste. Allerdings mussten wir drei Stunden auf Gläser warten, da diese nicht im Zimmer waren. Man nimmt, was man kriegen kann.

Cons:

Wo fangen wir an. Wir hatten das Strand-Chalet gebucht — das Beste und Teuerste, was das Hotel zu bieten hat. Was wir vorfanden: alte Möbel, Flecken auf den Laken und den Liegen, Spinnenweben im Schrank, staubige Fenster. Vom besten Zimmer im Haus hätten wir etwas mehr erwartet.

Der Pool sieht aus, als wäre er irgendwann mal notdürftig saniert worden — schmutzige Ränder, trübes Wasser, kein einladender Anblick.

Der Housekeeping-Service war schlicht unzuverlässig. Drei Tage in Folge mussten wir zur Rezeption, um fehlende Handtücher, Gläser und Wasser anzumahnen. Ab dem vierten Tag hat es dann geklappt — Lernerfolg vorhanden.

Die Handtuchlogistik ist dabei ein Kapitel für sich: abholen in einem bestimmten Zeitfenster, zurückbringen in einem anderen. Umständlich und für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse schwer zu erklären.

Zum Großteil war das Personal nicht unfreundlich, sondern einfach nur unmotiviert. Ein nettes Lächeln gab es eher selten.

Das Frühstück: wenig Auswahl, lieblos angerichtet. Das Wort "lieblos" trifft eigentlich auf vieles hier zu. Der Instagramauftritt des Hotels ist wirklich hervorragend — er zeigt allerdings ein Bild, das mit der Realität vor Ort wenig gemein hat. Wenn das Hotel nur halb so viel Energie in seine Gäste stecken würde wie in seinen Social-Media-Auftritt, wäre es schon ein deutlich besseres Erlebnis.

Für den Preis, den wir bezahlt haben, war es eine echte Enttäuschung.

Pros:

Lo mejor de nuestra estancia en La Digue Island Lodge es, sin duda, el entorno. El hotel está en un lugar precioso, rodeado de palmeras, con unos jardines muy bonitos y una zona de playa muy agradable, con hamacas y duchas.

La habitación es sencilla y hemos estado cómodos en general, aunque esperábamos algo más de calidad. La cama nos pareció bastante dura e incómoda. Además, al ducharnos salía un fuerte olor desagradable, como a aguas residuales, que dejaba el baño bastante apestado.

En resumen, es un alojamiento con un entorno precioso y una ubicación muy agradable, pero creemos que debería mejorar en aspectos como la limpieza, el mantenimiento del baño, la comodidad de las habitaciones y la organización del check-in.

Cons:

La limpieza es mejorable. Durante las 3 noches que estuvimos, en varias ocasiones regresamos al hotel sobre las 15:00-16:00 y la habitación todavía no había sido arreglada.

Otro aspecto que nos pareció mejorable fue el check-in. Al llegar al puerto te trasladan al hotel junto con otros huéspedes y allí se realiza el registro de todos a la vez. En nuestro caso tardamos alrededor de 1 hora y 15 minutos, ya que solo había una persona realizando todas las gestiones. Llegamos sobre las 13:00, nos indicaron que la habitación estaría disponible a partir de las 15:00 y finalmente no pudimos acceder hasta las 16:15. Además, durante ese tiempo tampoco teníamos acceso a nuestro equipaje, que el propio hotel había llevado directamente a la habitación.

Pros:

L'hôtel est composé de chalets et bungalows espacés, c'est donc très calme. Les jardins sont très bien entretenus. L'hôtel donne sur une petite plage, avec transats. Le restaurant sur pilotis permet de manger tout en contemplant l'océan. Le breakfast ainsi que le buffet du soir sont de qualité ( même les desserts!). Le personnel du restaurant est charmant et efficace.

Cons:

Le ménage quotidien des chambres fait souvent tardivement, après 15h.
Le confort du lit est à revoir.

Cons:

El desayuno muy caro para lo que es, no vale la pena cogerlo.
El check-out es a las 10, muy temprano teniendo en cuenta los pocos ferry que hay y el check-in bastante tarde por lo que también tienes que esperar bastante.
Las bicis no son 24h sino cuentan por día, es decir si la coges a las 6pm de hoy hasta mañana a la misma hora debes pagar 2 días enteros.
