Beautiful stay in Paihia
Pros:

Our Deluxe King room was beautiful, most hotels skimp on space but we loved how big our room was. The bathroom was very roomy with a big shower and separate bath also an extra towel was handy. Breakfast was perfect with a good selection of hot and cold options. Overall we were impressed. We stayed at the Copthorne the following night and much preferred our stay at Scenic better. Thank you.

I won’t be staying here again
Pros:

The pictures on the website promised a lot but the location did not meet my expectations. The breakfast buffet was good. The lady at reception when we checked in,Arohina and the tall, elderly gentleman at Nikau restaurant displayed exceptional customer service and friendliness.

Cons:

The room was not vacuumed when we checked in nor was it vacuumed the next day. The bottom of the curtain was black, dirt or mould? I’m not touching it to find out which one! Staff at the Friday night buffet were friendly except for the Asian lady who refused to acknowledge us. She hurried to clear other tables but ignored when we had used crockery and cutlery on our table. A bit racist, in my opinion.

Pros:

Property was just on the edge of town. Pleasant walk to the centre via the water. Room is spacious and clean. Beautiful outdoor area if kids wanted to hang around.

Cons:

Strong cleaning smell when we walked in. In Australia it smells the same as what they use in nursing homes. Kids both said it smells like a nursing home when we walked in. But you get used to it quickly or the smells just filters out. Small Campervan doesn’t fit outside room. But it has a lot of place to park very close by.
