The staff and location
The rooms are really small
We had a nice size room, with plenty of sunlight, a nice view, a moder updated look and feel.
The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful without being professionally, emotionally distant , as it is so common nowadays. It was a personal nice experience.
The beds we had were very, very comfortable and probably the best beds we have ever experienced in the hotel.
What was a little bit problematic was that there was no parking right by the hotel. We had a heavy snowstorm the night before and were forced to walk through the slush, on reduced walkways, back to the hotel, from our Park House, dowm the road. . For people with heavy luggage, and perhaps physical restrictions, this walk would have been impossible.
Our shower room had the tendency to overflow , since the drain did not properly work, in the floor. But that is just nitpicking.
We booked our room with booking.com, and the term other taxes was a bit of a throw off.
To me, that's just means the original price you see, it's just a click bait.
Very cool vibe all around. Staff does excellent job curating a great experience for the guests. Hotel is conveniently located near eclectic shops and dining options. The location is also great to avoid the traffic nightmare that exists in the city center. The restaurant has some fantastic food. Cassette is a nice chill vibe for a night cap. When a place nails all the details you know it is something special.
L’ambiance et les oeuvres affichées, le raffinement et l’attention portés aux details sans en faire trop
Le bruit extrême fort de la ventilation dans la chambre
Lovely historical property with a modern feel!
We stayed at The Gladstone House for a family wedding and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, it was a truly memorable weekend stay.
The hotel itself is beautiful—classic boutique charm with thoughtful artistic details that make every space feel intentional and unique. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well-designed, with everything we needed for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.
What really stood out was how ideal the Gladstone was for a wedding weekend. Having family and guests staying in the same hotel made everything feel easy, connected, and special. The staff were warm, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming, which greatly enhanced the overall experience.
The location is also fantastic—central, walkable, and close to great food, shops, and Toronto energy, while still feeling cozy and intimate.
If you’re looking for a boutique hotel with personality, excellent service, and a perfect setting for a wedding or family gathering, I would absolutely recommend the Gladstone. We would happily stay here again.
Bon emplacement, l’hotel a du cachet, le personnel est très aimable.
Chambre bien équipée mais il faudrait savoir où trouver les peignoirs et le sèche cheveux.
The heating system didn't work and it was painfully cold. The helpless staff offered me an extra blanket. Although there is a thermostat which controls temperature and fan speed, in fact, it has no control of the temperature or fan. The temperature was absolutely freezing and there was a strong fan blowing directly at the bed, making it impossible to sleep. Even when I tried to completely turn off the thermostat, the fan continued to blow regardless. Exhausted from traveling, I took a taxi to Walmart to buy a small heater, which saved my life. The room is modern, with large windows all of which are absolutely filthy on the outside, ruining the appeal of the room or view. I had to fix the toilet chain a few times. Nicely designed hotel, but these little things ruined it.
There was a wedding. This caused us not to be able to access room service or the bar which we planned on using for the night. Air conditioner broke. For the money I paid - and being forced to find somewhere else to eat and get a drink
- it was ridiculous.
Amazing stay and staff! The location is perfect Ana rooms are very nice! Highly recommend!
