Pros:

The free upgrade was unexpected and the room extra large on the ground floor off an airy courtyard - very welcome in the heat. The receptionist recommended an excellent restaurant across the street that was reasonably priced.and had interesting traditional Italian dishes. Interesting art works displayed everywhere.

Cons:

I found it impossible to adjust the A/C, so the room was too hot, despite the setting of 18C and increased fan speed.

Excellent hotel
Pros:

Good location, close to the Metro (4 stops to Milan Duomo) Centrale Milano station walking distance. Many cafes and restaurants nearby. Hotel was clean and very comfortable. Reception staff were excellent

Great hotel
Pros:

This is a great hotel in the midst of several hotels within walking distance of Milano Centrale Train station and lots of restaurants. The front desk, restaurant and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, with an amazing assortment of Italian pastries, cheeses, fruits and coffees. My double room was a good size with great lighting, plenty of electrical outlet, a large bathroom with a great shower and a bidet. Rooms are serviced daily. The only drawback was a less-than-stellar bed. I could actually feel the springs. But I would stay again.
