We had a wonderful week and would definitely return to hotel Laurin . Santa Margherita is a stunning place
Pros:

Best location . Rooftop pool
Is perfect for relaxing. The staff are very helpful and pleasant .

Cons:

The breakfast set up could be improved . Some of the rooms could be upgraded .

Perfect location with panoramic sea view!
Pros:

Great location. Easy access to shops, restaurants, ferry. Comfortable beds. Magnificent view, outdoor patio. Outstanding breakfast. Pool was an added bonus.

So disappointing
Pros:

The location is nice despite being straight on the road. But what we liked was the attitude of the staff, namely Amanda at the reception, trying all her best to make the service look like a 3 star hotel, not even a 4! Star as they claim

Cons:

Honestly if this hotel was 300 meters at the back it would not be on any recommended list. Of course it’s location forgives the small rooms, the internet bathroom the old furniture, the run down corridors , the lack of any kind of amenities such as kettle, instant coffee, glass cups. For an average of 400 euro a night, it is a rip off. Breakfast is fair. Nothing fancy. Just expected.
Last but not least, paying 900 euro for 2 nights the parking is 30 euro a night on top and it is 300-400 meters away / not 290 as claimed.
Location and Amanda made it ok but not again.

Overall amazing
Pros:

11/10. Stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Amazing breakfasts (many many options, hot meals with meat and eggs etc.), great gym, cool terrace with the pool, friendly staff, very good views from the room and terrace. Also quite convenient location for a walk to Portofino. Super clean rooms as well

Cons:

The balcony door was not soundproof 100% (mainly because of small gaps the door had, can be easily fixed by changing the rubber around the door). For me it was ok but some people might find it a bit inconvenient during the night
