Hotel Minerva

The team at the hotel were outstanding, nothing was a problem for them. They provided excellent local knowledge when we were considering different walking options and recommended several great restaurants and activities. The facilities were very good, the location great. This place is a gem, we stayed six nights - we wish it was six months!

The hotel was just ok. The rate should be half of what we paid.

A wonderful hotel, very clean, not far from the sea, great breakfast options and a rooftop terrace with amazing views of the harbour. All staff were friendly and helpful but special thanks to Federica who had great knowledge of the local area how to get to different places and things to see. She was also very helpful with arranging our travel back to the airport .

Stayed at Hotel Minerva for four nights and we are very satisfied with our choice of hotel. Charming, clean and nice hotel, with a good location in the city. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Will definitely recommend this hotel to those going to St. Margherita!!

We absolutely loved this place! Our room (and the entire hotel) was very clean, modern and comfortable. Our room, with balcony, had a great view of the countryside and the water in the distance. The entire staff was extremely accommodating. Frederica at the front desk was so gracious and helped us with restaurant recommendations, train tickets, and answered our many questions. Breakfast was excellent - great selection of cakes, breads, ham, yogurt, and much more. Luca managed the breakfast room and provided exceptional service. The hotel was within walking distance to city center, restaurants, and the water. Easy access to Portofino and the towns of the Cinque Terre from Santa Margherita Ligure.

We booked this hotel last minute on our travel back to France from Venice and we are SO happy we found it. The staff were wonderful and attentive and helpful. The terrace and pool was lovely with a gorgeous view of the sea and a small gym. The morning breakfast was beautiful and generous and the garden patio we sat in was beautiful. We wish we could stay longer but will absolutely be back. Thank you to the staff for hosting us and making this stay so memorable and relaxing. Highly recommend. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable and we had a cute balcony with a view as well. Air conditioning worked great. Very easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. I don’t often take time to write reviews but this hotel very much deserved it. Thank you thank you :) we will definitely be back and will be staying much longer.

The location is great for the harbour and town, and the town itself is one of the best places we've been anywhere: lively where you want it, peaceful where you don't, great food, beatiful surroundings, beaches and swimming. Lots of time spent browsing real estate agents!

But the hotel is so much more, excellent room, good breakfast but most of all the most firendly and helpful staff you can imagine - as good a concirege service as you'll find : train tickets, taxis, restauraant bookings, recommendations, travel advice - nothing was too much trouble. Federica and the team make it very difficult to leave

My husband and I just recently stayed at this hotel and absolutely LOVED it!!! You cannot beat the customer service. They went above and beyond to make our stay such a memorable one. Frederica is so wonderful and helpful! Luciano was also super helpful, fantastic! THANK YOU for everything!!!
The hotel is also in such a great location - a stone throw away from the main little town. But in a nice quiet area. The roof top pool is extremely beautiful and such a nice little oasis to escape to after a long day of exploring. It's an all around clean, beautiful, well kept up hotel. I HIGHLY recommend staying here! Don't question it - just book!!! You will be so happy you did!

Stunning views, exceptional service!

We arrived several hours before check in, but Federica ensured that our room was made ready for our arrival. She also provided extremely detailed information and an annotated map of the local area and recommended plenty of things to do and places to visit. Including going to Camogli to watch the sunset and different ways to get to Portofino. The hotel was in a great quiet location, close enough to the centre but far enough to escape the crowds.

Our room was spotless, and the view from our balcony was stunning. They gave us 2 bottles of water. We were very surprised to see the size of the room with a mezzanine with a cozy setup, including lots of warm lighting.

The breakfast buffet was superb, with plenty of choices. The staff were very friendly and eager to assist; even remembering the table we picked out on the first day and had it set up and ready for us the next day. They also remembered the hot drink which we preferred and made specially for us.

After calling reception about access to the pool, they came to our room and provided towels and keycards straightaway. The rooftop pool was peaceful and warm, and had a great view of the city, coast and surrounding mountains.

They also saved us with a bottle opener for our wine on our final night here!

All in all we had a great time here!

Went as a group of 5 (one couple, three friends). Location perfect for short easy walk to the centre of everything. Rooms clean with everything you need (apart from if you wish to have a kettle or coffee machine… but these are available from a machine near reception 24/7). Rooms cleaned daily with new towels daily and a beach towel daily as needed (just ask!). Little fridge in room with new water cartons daily.

Drinks service lovely… well priced… and included bringing your drinks to you while you lounge around on the rooftop deck/ in pool with magnificent views.

Breakfast… lovely spread of scrambled egg/ toast/ eggs cooked to your liking/ bacon, a display of yogurts, nuts, cereals, fruit, pancakes with syrup/ Nutella, cold meats/ cheeses.

Plenty various seating areas… indoors/ under shade outside in gardens.

Lift / stairs from parking area to reception and another lift or all room floors if you don’t fancy stairs.

Staff friendly and always ready to help (especially Federica) with hotel requests as well as with tips for places to see or eat at. Answered emails prior to our stay promptly and efficiently.

Weather was perfect.. barely a cloud in the sky all week. Hot but not intolerable.

Will definitely be going back.

Hotel Minerva is perfectly located for walking into town to the shops and restaurants but also away from the noise set a few streets back. The staff at the hotel are just amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely and there was a good selection to choose from. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked beautifully. I would highly recommend staying here (and I am a fussy guest!)

The service was outstanding, I've never been to a hotel 3, 4 or 5 star with anything close to the level of attention from all staff. We had a refurbished room which was exceptionally clean and up to date. Although there isn't a pool there is a large jacuzzi and decking area at the top of the hotel with lovely views across Santa Margherita.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at this hotel. Staff very helpful. in a convenient position. Parking the car in the garage was really good. Breakfast was extremely good. Definitely would recommend.

La petite chambre est suffisante et pratique.
Le personnel est à l’écoute et parle français.
Plusieurs petits bars dans le village ,mention spéciale au Sabot.
Aller à Portofino à pied (5 km plat) en longeant la côte permet de profiter de beaux paysages et de découvrir le village de belle manière. Le retour à Santa Margherita en bateau est une bonne option.
Personnellement j’ai préféré loger à Santa Margherita et aller à Portofino que l’inverse . Portofino est très esthétique, un décor de cinéma, mais tout petit, les tarifs sont plus élevés et il y a énormément de touristes.
Mais c’est incontournable !

A hidden gem, with amazing facilities, service and location. Views from the roof top spa terrace were amazing. Beautiful traditional balcony with greenery hilltop views. Super comfy bed and great breakfast included!!
