The location
The bathroom was very tight
Lack of car parking for guests
Personale accogliente, gentile, premuroso
Rubinetteria del bagno.. poco curata
A perfect hotel to explore Todi from. Anna and all the staff made our stay so special. The room was fabulous with the most beautiful view of the valley. The food was delicious. We were so sad to leave.
Absolutely nothing.
Posizione
Camera
The location just meters away from Piazza Popolo was very convenient for us. The room was spacious, comfortable, and cool even though the weather was extremely hot when we were there. Breakfast included a nice variety of foods.
Nothing
There is a lot I want to say about Hotel Fonte Cesia: firstly, its location is superb as it is literally in the Centro Storico of Todi (historic town in Umbria).
I would also like to say that the staff were all polite, always helpful and professional.
Our room faced the very busy Corso Cavour which then joins and becomes Via Roma.
Generally speaking, it was not too disruptive, BUT when outside guests and also people sitting at the nearby bar (near the actual Fonte Cesia fountain), we were forced to shut the window-door, this meant we also needed to keep the air conditioning (aria condizionata) on for prolonged periods of time if we were in the room, not just because it was terribly hot outside (nearly 38 C), but because the room being quite small needed some air anyway. This leads me to talk about the AC system which, in my humble opinion, would need a good modernisation. It was a tad too noisy for our taste.
The bathroom was lovely and full of light, BUT the shower cubicle far too small... even for me, and I am rather petite in stature.
Breakfast was lovely but the hotel does not include in the stay so needs to be paid separately as well as the city tax.
As a 4-star hotel, I would have hoped that something like a glass of Prosecco to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which I had asked for before arriving at the hotel, would have been complimentary, but instead a whole bottle of it had been opened so, apart from asking for it to be kept in the hotel fridge so we would consume it during the next two days, I then realised it had also been included in the final bill.
I understand that the hotel wants to stay unique and independent, which is great, BUT sometimes it is nice to offer a little surprise to first-time guests like we were. ;-)
I do want to add though that two members of the staff at the hotel, excelled themselves during out stay: "breakfast" Monia and Tiziana. Thank you both for your care and patience!
Staff and location
Todi is a charming little town and this hotel is centrally located and the folks here are very nice. The breakfasts were good and the bed was comfortable. Our bed was made up daily and towels were changed daily. The rooms are rather small. The view from our window was of an older Italian neighborhood with laundry drying outside windows. I felt like I was in a real, authentic, picturesque Italian village! So what’s not to like? Well the shower was the tiniest I have ever used. Much smaller than the smallest cruise ship shower stall. Two women of size in our group could not even enter their shower. Several women in our group said they were unable to shave her legs in their showers (not a problem for me of course). However, there was no room to bend over and bend a knee and wash my feet. And worst of all the aged drain system emitted a continuous oder of sewage. Until they renovate the bathrooms and fix the plumbing, I would respectfully suggest you at least consider a different hotel for your visit.
Hotel molto elegante che rispecchia lo stile del paese. Personale molto accogliente e simpatico
Tutto positivo ma la colazione che va pagata a parte
