Beautiful Bologna
Pros:

Wonderful stay at the heart of Bologna
Pros:

The location of the Hotel in unbeatable! It's really at the heart of the city. Still its quite and very nice. The rooms are clean, well equipped and very nice. The hotel has a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff has been very nice. We stayed 3 nights to visit the cultural highlights of Bologna and couldn't think of a better location. The breakfast buffer has been generous with high quality products, so we had each morning a wonderful start into the day. Highly recommended!

Pros:

Bologna stole our hearts. It's a beaut. A great place to stroll round. The hotel could not be in a better location to see all the main sites and get the full Bologna experience. Our room on the 5th floor was lovely. Had a great little sitting area, comfortable bed, and the view of the Piazza Maggiore from our room was ace. The porticoes were truly magnificent. The food and wine nearly everywhere we went were molto buono.

Cons:

Nothing to add here, as really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is very central off the square if that is what you are looking for.

Cons:

Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my stay here much at all. The room was dark with limited natural light and the internal lighting was very unpleasant. The bathroom was very small and awkwardly shaped. The aircon in the room did not work and it was very stuffy. The room was not clean either - I was excited to see bathrobes provided and when I opened the plastic wrapping there was black hairs all over the robe. The door also didn’t shut well so you had to slam it shut just to ensure it was closed. I assumed being close to the square you’d hear a bit, but the noise through the windows was so loud I ended up buying ear plugs. You can also hear all your neighbours around and above you. The breakfast room looked nice but the food options were limited and unpleasant.

Cons:

Old, not renovated room. No bar in the hotel. Breakfast was just terrible, the worst that I've eaten in my life. Omlet had to be payed extra and it was just terrible. Horrible expensive for what it offers.

Pros:

Perfetta la posizione centrale da cui si possono raggiungere gere tutte le parti del centro storico in pochi minuti a piedi. Camera molto bella, pulita, dall'aspetto nuovo.

Cons:

La colazione non è il punto forte. La pasticceria non è fresca, non vi sono spremute fresche e la scelta di salato è limitata. Per un breve soggiorno va cmq bene, lo staff è gentile e la sala piacevole.

Highlight of my trip to Italy!
Pros:

I had a wonderful stay at the Art Hotel Orologio in Bologna, February 9-11, 2026. A friend recommended this hotel to me, and I was impressed right from the start by the cozy atmosphere and attention to detail. The reception staff was very professional, discreet yet helpful.

My room was exquisitely appointed, everything from the light fixtures to door handles and closet hardware felt luxurious without being ostentatious. The bathroom was beautiful and just the right size. Cleanliness throughout.

The dining room/lounge area was another delight. The breakfast spread was varied and well thought out, and the staff attentive and warm.

My stay here was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Italy, and I would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Bologna.

P.S.: Compared to all the other hotels that I stayed at during this trip (Milan, Assago, Firenze) the Art Hotel Orologio provided the best value. I really cannot say enough about this place.
