Great location. Comfortable bed. 24h reception was really useful (I did a late check-in).
The building is starting to show its age. Even though I have nothing to say about comfort, the fact is that a modern renovation is clearly needed. The extra price tag comes with the location.

camera minuscola, con arredo vecchio degli anni '80, parquet rovinato, bagno vecchio, piccolo , malamente illuminato .Aria condizionata rumorosa e poco gestibile come temperatura.
Rapporto qualità prezzo inadeguato per una stanza claustrofobica, in cui ci sta giusto un letto alla francese , un mini corridoio con un tavolino occupato interamente dal bollitore e le 4 tisane presenti( per indicare la dimensione del tavolo).

The central location and the view were the only real positives. After I complained, I was moved to another room, which had fewer issues than the first one. However, this cost me time, energy and patience, and in a hotel of this category it should not depend on luck whether you end up in an acceptable room. My review therefore refers to the overall experience across both rooms.
Unfortunately, the hotel was in very poor condition for a four-star property. The photos only show a small part of the problems, because Booking allows only four pictures to be uploaded. There would have been much more to show.
The room had dirt in many places, especially in the bathroom. The toilet was greenish on arrival, and the toilet paper holder was badly positioned, so the toilet paper was blocked by the open toilet lid when sitting on the toilet. Several bathroom fixtures, drains, metal parts and corners looked dirty, stained, corroded or badly maintained.
Many things in the room were damaged and simply left unrepaired, including broken or worn fixtures, damaged tiles, open drill holes, poor repairs, damaged wooden parts, skirting boards and furniture. The room did not just look old, which I expected when booking. It looked genuinely poorly maintained.
The so-called minibar was not a minibar, but just an empty small refrigerator. The air conditioning also seemed extremely outdated. It was not able to maintain a stable temperature and cooled in a very basic, uncontrolled way, so I woke up several times during the night feeling cold.
The breakfast selection was broad, but the quality seemed poor. The orange juice looked artificial and unnaturally bright, and real orange juice was only available for an extra charge.
After I complained, I was moved to another room with fewer issues, but it was still not problem-free.
Overall, the location is good, but cleanliness, maintenance, comfort and quality control were far below what I expect from a four-star hotel.
