Hotel San Gallo

My second stay here, I will stay here on each visit to Venice. Amazing location, very short walk to San Marco and not much further to the water taxi for the airport. Vito is an excellent member of staff but all are equally wonderful, friendly, helpful. Delicious treats and amazing toiletries in rooms on arrival, including toothbrush and shaving kit! Love this place!

Don't let the exterior fool you. The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean. They are small, but it is Venice. Walking distance to most attractions, and the STAFF is absolutely AMAZING! The location was quiet at night, and beds and bedding was great. Thank you Vito, and team for making our Venice trip so memorable. One thing to note...no elevator, but staff moved our luggage for us.

Really great stay. 24hr reception and everything was walkable distance. The building is quite aged, but the bathroom was renovated.
There is no elevator and quite a lot of steps to get to our room. However, the staff were really friendly and helped us with our luggage up and down the stairs.

Great stay. Vito made our stay unforgettable and went above and beyond. Would definitely return when in Venice.

Excellent service. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Old building. Room was clean and nicely decorated. It is a small hotel within very short walking distance to the square and many restaurant. Will stay here again next time.

Fridge in the room did not work. Staff let us keep stuff in their fridge but this was not the most convenient.

What a little gem. Small hotel with wonderful staff near everything. Vitto gave wonderful suggestions for a less touristy way to enjoy his city, which is exactly what I wanted. Comfortable bed and very good AC in the cute little room I had booked. Very quiet despite being so close to St Mark’s. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Friendly and helpful staff. My plane was delayed and arrived very late. Staff waited for me to check in. Room was small but very beautiful, comfortable, clean, with welcome treats. Very comfortable bed and good clean shower.

The location and staff were amazing. We could get to almost anything, including water taxis to go to the train station, within 5 mins, including just a one or two minute walk to the beautiful nearby square. Of all our hotel stays in Italy, this was our favorite staff… I forget the girls name but she was awesome and lovely, and the guy who helped lug our luggage up the tall stairs (no elevator) was super helpful and nice. The hotel and room had charm but lacked some comforts, including a proper lobby and elevator. Bathroom was updated but tiny and also lacking, and the room itself wasn’t at the most affordable price. So, for these reasons and a few others, I would never ever even consider giving this a 5 star rating; however, the staff, location, and cleanliness bump it up to a 4 star in terms of overall value.

The staff was super helpful, both with carrying all the luggage up and down the stairs, but also with telling me how to get places and with recommendations.

Room was absolutely delightful. So well appointed - every little thing one might need for a hotel stay was thought of - even a robe. Plus there were welcoming treats. Room and bathroom were spotless. Only downside for some might be the stairs

This was my second time staying at this lovely hotel and my experience was just as wonderful as I remember. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and also a 2 minute walk from St Marks Square.

Vito and the entire staff were extremely helpful! Between calling a porter to giving amazing recommendations, we would stay here again. The location is so easy to get to and the rooms while smaller, have very modern bathrooms and were clean.
