Hotel Cortina

Quello che non avete comunicato è che, al mio arrivo dopo le 16:30, sono stata obbligata ad andare all’Hotel Britannia per effettuare il check‑in, nonostante il soggiorno fosse già completamente pagato. Lì mi è stata richiesta nuovamente la carta di credito per un deposito cauzionale per eventuali danni in camera, una richiesta che, sinceramente, mi ha lasciata senza parole. Tra attese e procedure, ho perso circa 10–15 minuti inutilmente.
Successivamente mi sono recata all’Hotel Cortina, dove sono rimasta scioccata nel vedere i bidoni della spazzatura posizionati subito dietro la porta d’ingresso, con un odore evidente. Per accedere all’albergo ho dovuto salire le scale fino al primo piano, dove ho pagato la tassa di soggiorno a una persona in reception che, a questo punto, avrebbe potuto tranquillamente gestire anche il check‑in, evitando del tutto il passaggio al Britannia.
Quando sono entrata in camera, ero da sola, ho trovato due gradini immediatamente dietro la porta: a mio avviso molto pericolosi, soprattutto senza alcun avviso o segnalazione. Il bagno era vecchio, con una vasca piena di macchie e visibilmente danneggiata; la doccia sembrava degli anni ’80. Il letto era rifatto, ma il piumino non aveva nemmeno una copertura. Devo dire che l’esperienza è stata completamente diversa da ciò che mi aspettavo.
Onestamente, non può essere considerato un albergo, ma piuttosto un semplice affittacamere.

The bed and room one wasn’t the greatest. The bed in room 15 was better. They had some options available for us to participate in, but due to the short notice, we weren’t able to work those into our plans. I wish we would’ve known about those options several weeks ago.

I didn't like the size of the bathroom and the air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool.

Struttura un po’ vecchia

Non ho gradito i rumori e i cori da stadio provenienti dai piani superiori di questo hotel che si trova al primo piano di un palazzo e che non ha una hall. Il bagno era microscopico, con un lavandino simile a quelli delle stanze dei traghetti. La vasca da bagno era davvero piccola, sembrava una tinozza. Mancavano anche i bicchieri per gli spazzolini, così come i kit cortesia. In corrispondenza del mio comodino, e praticamente in tutta la stanza, non c'era nessuna presa elettrica, al di là di quelle a cui era collegato il lume e il frigobar, quindi ho dovuto ricaricare il telefono in bagno. Abbiamo pagato uno sproposito queste due notti a Roma per quello che ci è stato offerto, non era prevista nemmeno la colazione. Prezzo davvero troppo elevato.

Our stay started with a very pleasant welcome, despite us being too early for the check-in. It was no problem to have our luggage stored while we went in the city. The room was clean.

However, the night was less pleasant.
The boiler of the hotel is located next to our room. In the middle of the night the tube broke so there were mechanics coming to work on the tube. We didnt know about this and we woke up from flashlights and people in front of our room window.

This was a big shocker and made us feel unsafe. After this we called the emergency line and they told us not to worry. The mechanis kept working during the night and it woke us up several times (they were knocking on the wall and the window accidentally).

Unfortunately, they were not able to fix the problem. In the morning we didnt have water: so we couldnt shower, flush the toilet or use the sink.

During the check-out we expected someone at the reception to say sorry for the inconvenience or at least mention it. This didnt happen.

Unfortunately we wouldnt come here again.
