Overall good but Paris accommodation is pricey.

The fitness area is pathetic. A few token free weights and an un-useable gym station in a tiny room directly adjacent to the massage area, so you can both view each other.

Good stay for couples, not for families
Pros:

The hotel is conveniently located next to La République with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby. We slept peacefully, and the room was soundproof. The hotel staff is very helpful and kind. They offered our baby a teddy bear as a memento. The street around is quiet. The AC is strong and really cools the air.

Cons:

The suite could use some maintenance. We experienced many issues, like a broken toilet seat (which was fixed right away), a leaking faucet (which wasn't fixed at all despite having flagged the issue twice) and a shower door that wasn't closing properly (also an issue that wasn't fixed). The room is extremely tiny, with a weird design featuring a walk-in shower inside the bedroom with no curtains (so our baby couldn't sleep if we were showering), so we always had to plan our showers, something that wasn't very convenient with the heatwave that hit Paris while we were there. Having traveled with 2 checked-in bags and a carry on, the bags took up the room space once open on the floor. Unfortunately, a bag rack wasn't supplied either. The closet is super tiny. The toiletries are not refilled daily - only upon request, and housekeeping wasn't available 24/7.

Pros:

Charming hotel with warm welcome
Pros:

Le General was a great Paris launch pad for two fun days of exploration, particularly right bank and Canale Martin area. The concierge staff went out of their way to welcome us and get us situated and comfortable. They were able to direct us to a great lunch and some excellent neighborhood walks. The lobby was full of charm and interesting ways to get to know the area. My room was up-to-date with amenities and comfortable mattress and bedding and quiet for good sleeping. Breakfast was excellent, including healthy plus protein plus delicious pastries.

Pros:

Very nice location. Not far from sights but not in the middle of the tourist area. You can really feel the local vibe. The personnel very friendly and helpful, with very good information and suggestions. Also the room and the hotel in general was fully equipped with many accessories and amenities. The bed was comfortable and the pillows very nice.

Cons:

It could be cleaner. I mean, when we closed the air conditioning,the room could smell a bit mold . Also the bathroom didn't dry at all. I mean,you could have a bath and next morning every drop of water was still there. Too much moisture in the house. But when you opened the air conditioning, everything was fine.
Also the room never smelled clean,even after the cleaners left the room.
