Hotel Krone Unterstrass

Staff was helpful and able to check us in early which was amazing as we just got off a flight. They are very close to a bus stop and transportation is easy. Bakeries nearby for breakfast if don’t want to eat. Hotel had a hot water kettle for instant coffee. Beds were comfortable and offered water. Great hotel to spend the night after just getting into the country. Felt safe and no issues. Had amenities in room.

Bad experience. The small safe to keep our passport, extra money never worked. Light/Power went off twice in our room. Only 2 sachet of white sugar & tea bags provided for 3 adults, no fridge on such hot days. Staff would not make an effort to resolve these small demands which can make a difference. There are no facilities like a gym, etc. You just get an average size room with bath/toilet and a small kettle, some coffee sachet but no milk and a wardrobe. Apparently you can buy milk at the reception but no-one told us. I would like some refund/compensation for the inconvenience caused.

An updated TV would be good, so you can stream from phone.

Property was good the breakfast was poor. Did not replenish food and most of was cold

So convenient. Bus station right across the hotel. Staff was v kind and helpful.

Very quiet, clean, perfect location with stores around, 10 min walk to main railway station, old town and shopping streets. Coffee/tea maker, small fridge, comfortable seating area, like everything is excellent! We stayed here twice! Highly recommended!

Had a fab stay, loved walking down the straight to take a dip in the river.

Small but perfect

Check in was fine, but I would say this hotel is very expensive for what it is and what you get. My husband was electrocuted by a faulty hairdryer supplied by the hotel, and when raised when them they simply just gave us a new one.. this could have been much more serious than it was given my husband was also holding my 2 year old at the time. I would not stay here again, and would not recommend.

Hotel was very nice, Staff was very helpful.

The hotel is clean and location is decent (in front of Kronenstrasse tram stop #11). The reason for a 4 is that the room was very small, and not all housekeeping is the same (sometimes they put everything back and sometimes not).

May 19-22 in superior room with the modern washroom. Stayed with family and a toddler. Reception team was super helpful, we arrived easy and luckily there was availability to check in by 10:30am. Our plane arrived 7am.

The washroom was great, spacious, shower was great- loved the pressure and hot water. Bed was and living space was fine. Bed was soft for our preferences.

Great location, short ride on the tram to HB. Denner was very close and a kiosk was even closer. Few cafe/coffee shops a short walk away. Coop/mottos would be 10min walk or so .

It's a high quality 4-star hotel. It is what it is.

Great hotel. Front desk agents were very friendly and helpful. We got to hotel well before check in time and although rooms weren’t ready, they got us all checked in so it would be a quick key pick up later. They happily stored our luggage. We returned a couple hours later to drop our Lindt chocolate purchases and were surprised to hear rooms were ready for us. Cozy rooms, very clean. The location is so easy to get to by public transportation (tram) that connects to easily to main train station, airport and all the sights of Zurich.
