Stopped off here for one night on our way home from camping in Lake Garda. We wanted a place approximately halfway home and having had a wonderful stay at Lake Annecy on the way to Italy, we chose another lakeside resort on the way back.

Location is great, just a few minutes stroll to the Lake and restaurants of Aix-Les- Bains. The hotel is very much of a chalet style and the decor is quaint and quirky. The family room was spacious and comfortable. There is a lovely outdoor seating area and plenty of free parking. The breakfast was superb and quite unique. There is a kitchen area which is filled with a whole range of delicious food and cakes.

The staff were very welcoming, particularly Bertrand who spoke good English and gave me a good opportunity to try out my limited French vocabulary.

We would have liked to have stayed longer in this resort and hotel and will definitely drop by again when next travelling in Europe.

We have been staying at the Davat now for 15 years on a regular basis. The owners are wonderful, helpful, efficient, and friendly. There is free parking, small but adequate in house bar. The rooms are comfortable and the family suites are very generous. The hotel is located 4 minutes from the lake and boat port. The restaurant is with out a doubt one of the top eating places in Aix Les Bains. The food and wine quality and choices are some of the best I have ever come across anywhere in the world. If I could, I would live here!

First of all the personnel is very friendly. That makes already 50% of my experience. Taking into account that this is a two star hotel, it is good. We had a hotel room with three beds that could be used for five people. The two bedrooms have a decent size so also has the bathroom with a shower and separate toilet. We had a nice TV and wifi in the room. Wifi in our room was free and 1,22Mbps download and 0,45Mbps upload ( speediest.net). Breakfast was sufficient, although I would like to have fresh juices. Everything was clean enough, however not perfect, but I don't expect that from a 2 star hotel. We went later on to a 3 star hotel down at the harbor and that was a disaster on that case. If this hotel tackles my negative suggestions, they can become easily a three or four star hotel service. By the way they have a large parking place.
Please put Air-conditioning or in at least a fridge in the room. Clean up the back entrance. Our door was not sound nor light proof. So as soon as someone was awake or went in the corridor we were awake. Although the rooms have three beds for 5 people and they are big enough, all the beds and closets give a smaller impression. I would advise ( in my room) to use a hotel inspector or interior designer to get the rooms a more guest friendly. It was a Micmac of older tiles and refreshments. Except for the air conditioning and the door, this hotel is not bad at all ( if you go on the lake all day) For the hotel owners: Maybe it is a good idea to look at TV programs like: Hotel inspector UK or Hotel impossible at travel channel.

Found at the end of a very long day, the owner was very freindly and accomodating, they provided secure garage parking for our motorbikes free of charge. The room was airy and bright if a little basic but it was clean and included a balcony to sit out on.

We ate in the restaurant at night and although a little more expensive that we'd been used to on this trip still very reasonable. Portions were large - if I did have a complaint it would be that there was too much food on the plate but that would be it. restaurant area was a very nice place to be.

We used the hotel as a night stop after a long drive enroute from Barcelona to Switzerland.
It is located on a quite road, far from the city center and close to the lake shore with many excellent and reasonably restaurants around.

My husband and I spent two nights this past June in Aix-les-Bains in the Hotel Davat. It was our wedding anniversary. The restaurant just situated outside the restaurant is so quaint an surrounded by what you would picture on a postcard of the french countryside. Fields of lavender and roses. The smell of figs and mulberries in the air. Sophie and Bertrand make you feel like family.

We are staying for three nights and have had a wonderful time here. Although the rooms are a little old-fashioned in style, they are very clean and the location is perfect - the lake is not visible from the rooms, but is only a little way down the road. We have eaten here, in the garden, and the food was very good - cheaper than some of the restaurants at the Grand Port, but a good choice of menus. There is a small gym which is free to guests and beauty treatments, massages, etc. are available at extra cost. Altogether good value for money and we would stay here again in this pretty town.

We stayed here in May as part of a month long bike trip round Europe. We really loved this hotel and wished we'd stayed longer than the one night we had.

The location is fabulous if you want to be near the lake (5 mins walk) but bad if you want to be near the town (a good couple of miles). We wanted to be near the lake, so we were fine. Our room was in the separate building. It was big, light and airy with our own balcony overlooking some gardens - a really lovely room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband wanted a massage and they got the masseuse in at late notice for us, which was kind.

We left before breakfast but wished we'd stayed much longer. We'll be back.
