Highly recommend this hotel in beautiful Caen when visiting Normandie
Pros:

Our family of five truly appreciated our stay at the Best Western Royal Caen Centre.
The location was great, in close proximity to shopping and amenities, wonderful restaurants and neighborhoods with charm, and historical sites (notably the castle). The rooms are clean, comfortable, and perfect size. The staff at reception work very hard to ensure all goes smoothly. We were lucky that our rooms overlooked the Place de la République and loved the balcony. Air conditioning worked great despite that our stay was during a heat wave. Breakfast options
The property is also well located for side trips to Normandie, close access to major arteries. In addition, the location felt very safe.

Pros:

This was our 2nd stay at The Best Western in Caen and we thought both visits were excellent.Staff so helpful, rooms clean, carpark easy and convenient. Breakfast good value for money.
All in all a pleasant stay

Horrible air-conditioning, nice breakfast
Pros:

The breakfast was great and there was plenty of choice and good quality. The location is very central to the shipping district and good restaurants.

Cons:

The air-conditioning was appalling. The receptionist didn't tell us that it is controlled centrally, so when we went to cool down the room it would reset to 24 degrees. It was cooler to keep the window open. Given the hotel markets itself as having air conditioning this is a problem. I was unimpressed that the shower over the bath was so low and was positioned that it flooded the floor after a shower. The so called Queen bed was two single beds pushed together. As a couple or meant that it was uncomfortable to sleep together.
