Good experience for IronMan extended week-end
Pros:

+ breakfast & dinner buffet is very rich and good value for money; the restaurant staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome
+ good option for the IronMan week-end: bike friendly, early morning breakfast for the competition day

Cons:

Few small non-sense policies can actually decrease customer experience, which is really a shame considering the overall hotel potential
* asking for payment at check-in - shows an unnecessary lack of trust
* refusal to get an extra towel for the pool - absolutely ridiculous "policy", totally inappropriate, especially since it was not about taking the tower outside (to the beach); furthermore, when you rely on guests to mindfully consider not daily changes of towels, it's common sense to not deny requests for an extra one

I recently spent two nights at Hotel Balmes in Calella (Wednesday to Friday) and had a truly excellent stay. The team at the hotel are exceptionally friendly and professional, always ready to help with a smile. The location is unbeatable, just steps from the beach and local attractions, yet very peaceful and relaxing.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. Everything feels very well maintained. The beds are wonderfully comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep after a day exploring the Catalan Coast.

It’s the perfect place for a relaxing break or longer holidays in this beautiful area. I highly recommend to anyone that is looking for great value, comfort, and warm hospitality. it and would gladly return on my next visit to Calella.
