KAKTUS Hotel Volga

Hotel is not 4* should be 2* next door to a large school and 20 meters from a railway line. Yes beach is opposite but you have to detour down the road and through an underpass to get to it. Hotel was clean some staff friendly but reception staff very offhand. Food was mediocre and always the same. No entertainment at all. Set in town surrounded by buildings not much to do except visit shops. Swimming pool very small and cold. Would not go back.

Not 4 star, very basic rooms. Our balcony faced the street and a large noisy school and was barely a metre wide.
Dated decor, our bathroom door was all swollen at the bottom due to leaking shower.
Food was subscription standard and the chef doing breakfast just about managed a grunt at you.

Overall good hotel, not geared up to English, but Calella isn't which is good, man on reception was a bit blunt, but the ladies were cheerful. We had a room over looking pool, small but nice aera, the room was bit dated could have done with brighter lights to see when getting ready, and perhaps an English channel on TV, but very clean and comfy. Room only so can not say about food, only that dining room was down in the basement, did not look too inviting, we ate out in the town every day, much better.

Vi hadde utsikt mot sjøen. Fin terrasse. God frokost. Hyggelig personale. Parkering på offentlig plass. Ubevoktet, et stykke fra hotellet.

We were there as a family of 3, They gave us a triple room that was quite big, Breakfast & Dinner were excellent, But the internet connection was horrible, i had to use my data whole time so kinda expensive.....

Alles top, außer der Speisesaal… der befindet sich im Keller, ohne Fenster. Man fühlt sich wie im Bunker! Essen aber gut.

Whilst the hotel was in a great location and the amenities were great, I was made to feel very unwelcome and the manager was rude.

Bra personal. Ligger nära till allt. Lugnt hotell. Bra frukost. Serviceinriktad personal i receptionen. Bra städning. Bra beachclub nära hotellet.

Fint rom, pent hotell, nært det meste.

Als wir vor der Check-In Zeit eintrafen, war das Zimmer schon bereit. Wie wurden freundlich und effizient eingecheckt.
Alles hat toll funktioniert.

Firstly, it is summer and your air conditioning is the worst I've ever seen. It never got cold in the room as the setting was locked to keep turning on and off every 4 to 6 minutes, and the air coming out was not cold.

Secondly, the room was old and had a particularly awful smell that never went away, even with the balcony doors open.

Thirdly, I had booked a room with a pool view, and had paid more than the standard room, and yet I was given a standard room. A day after having slept in a tiny room facing a school, which was noisy, I was moved to a disabled-set room which was not what I had booked, and nothing like the pictures (probably photo-shopped) that I had seen on the website.

Ultimately, I simply didn't get what I had paid for and the staff showed a reluctance to sort the problems out.

Lovely clean hotel.
The food was really good and great choice.
We changed to a pool view room which i would recommend having.
It's a great holiday if you want the beach close and a relaxing time.
The staff are all lovely, friendly and helpful, would definitely return there.

Bra opphold i middels bra hotell.
Standard dobbelt rom var lite og ikke spesielt komfortabelt.

This is very nice hotel - 5 mins walk from the train station. Easy walk 5-10 mins to pedestrian area of the town with bars and shopping.
Short walk to the beach.
Good all round choices at breakfast which was replenished frequently. The bar was reasonably priced. We used the pool area which was a bit small for the size of the hotel. The sun does only reach the sun beds fro mid morning due to the surrounding buildings. The only negative is the railway line (which is close and can be heard from the rooms facing the sea, however it’s not too loud and is quiet at night.)

Good food, good vibes, clean, friendly staff

Had a really good stay at the Volga hotel.
