An excellent stay in a lovely hotel.
Pros:

It was a beautiful historic property with views of the river to the front and the Chateau to the rear. The staff were excellent. Location excellent and we had parking in the hotel grounds too. A perfect place to stay.

Nice hotel in a central location. Street parking available right outside. Our room was big for a city hotel. Breakfast was very good with a huge selection on offer.

Overall very good, lovely room, nice setting, very friendly staff.

Cons:

Having said the above,there are a couple of issues prevented a full score. The room was great, but you were unable to shut and latch/lock the bathroom door due to not having a handle. The pool was covered and looked very shut, even though it was open. However not very inviting. The room overlooked the river as advertised but the road traffic from early in the morning was very noticable. (NOT the fault of the Hotel, we chose to sleep with the window open)

Lovely hotel with very good facilities and friendly staff.
Pros:

Very well located hotel on the river and with very easy walking access to the town centre. Rooms are well equipped with decoration a little tired but this does not take away from the comfort. Lovely bar and outside sitting area at the back of the hotel. Small outdoor pool which is so welcome on a hot day. Separately run excellent restaurant across the garden. Delicious breakfast with everything we could have wanted.

Cons:

There was nothing not to like. Would recommend asking for a room with a river view.
