You would be very hard to find fault with this gem
This is a beautiful hotel on the bank of Lake Iseo in Sulzano
We had a lake view room which was perfect. There was a problem with the air conditioning in the room but the hotel staff were very helpful and provided a mobile unit for us.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding - everything you could possibly want, and eaten outside overlooking the lake. The restaurant is not run by the hotel - we had a couple of meals there and it was very good. However, the hotel lunch time menu was exceptionally good - a good selection of salads, pasta and light lunches.
The restaurant is closed on Thursdays and there are not many places to eat in Sulzano but a short boat trip away is the island of Isola and we went over there where there were some very nice reasonably priced restaurants.
As mentioned in other reviews the hotel car park is small (and an additional cost) but once we got our car in there we only took it out once! There were much bigger cars than ours that had managed to get in there and at least we knew the car was safe!
All the staff were lovely and helpful particularly the reception staff who would usually provide the answers to all questions about the hotel and local area
Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Frühstück war sehr gut,Zimmer war auch völlig okay!
Alles sehr eng was das Parken angeht, kein Service für Gepäck und Parken ,Fahrt nicht mit großen Autos hin, zusätzliche Gebühren für das Parken
Amazing venue
De tuin en terras en het ontbijt.
Veldig god frokost, bra utvalg.
Nydelig beliggenhet.
Location is picture perfect, right on the lakeside.Breakfast was amazing, excellent choice and regularly refreshed. We were so keen to stay there we took the only room (a triple) that was available for our 4 night stay which was hardly big enough for the two of us and unfortunately overlooking the small car park.Apart from the regular ferries across to Monte Isola the town of Sulzano is desperately quiet and quite disappointing .Iseo, only ten minutes away has a lot more going for it.
We were having a birthday event for 16 people. Hotel staff organized everything so well. Peaceful little hotel with a wonderful breakfast.
The location, property, and our room were dreamy & quintessentially Italian. Our two night stay was met by chilly, drizzly weather, but the small hotel and area were still enchanting. While we would return to Hotel RivaLago, be aware that Sulzano is small with only one other recommended restaurant (Trattoria Cacciatore, which was limited & average). The hotel restaurant was closed one night during our stay and fully booked the next. The evening of our arrival, we took the ferry to Monte Isola to eat at La Foresta per the recommendation of Hotel RivaLago staff. The suggestion was a poor one as La Foresta is overpriced, limited, & somewhat eccentric. Per the recommendation of another staff person, we took the train to Iseo during our full day in the area (it was too rainy & cold for Monte Isola). The train station is practically across the street from the hotel, & Iseo is less than 10 minutes away. We had really nice day in Iseo that included an excellent lunch at Pizzeria Ristorante La Vera Umbria.
