Pros:

I booked a stay at The Blandford Hotel through Booking.com and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with how the situation was handled.
When we arrived at the hotel, the first room we were given had a mattress that was severely bent in the middle and curved like a banana, making it completely unusable to sleep on. After raising this with reception we were offered a second room, however this room had visible stains on the headboard directly above the pillows and other maintenance issues which raised hygiene concerns.
Because of this we left the property within minutes and did not stay overnight. I provided photographic evidence of the issues.
Despite this, Booking.com stated they were unable to reach an agreement with the hotel and offered only a small amount in travel credit rather than resolving the matter properly.
I have always used Booking.com and trusted the platform, but in this situation it felt like the customer was left without meaningful support even when clear evidence of the room condition was provided.
I hope Booking.com reviews cases like this more carefully in the future so that customers are better protected when accommodation clearly falls below an acceptable standard.
