This hotel gets the job done, not much more. The rooms are clean and the water pressure is good. There is not a breakfast provided in the morning and there were several small things broken in the hallway and the bathroom. It is somewhat noisy until around 0400 from the bars across the street.
We selected this hotel as many others were taken due to a large conference taking place in Munich. The hotel was well located and walking distance to Munich attractions. The area was quiet at night and the room was decent. The areas to improve is that they need to replace their pillows asap and the shower itself is tiny and too tall to reach, making it easier to slip getting out.
Friends and I went for Oktoberfest and this was the most convenient location (and cheapest) for us due to location of the festival grounds and train stations. The staff was friendly enough, neighborhood wasn't the best but never felt unsafe. It was a place to stay at a very busy time of year for Munich so can't complain too much.
Staff were very helpful with regards late check in.
My room (No 51) was huge, bright and quiet.
I am hesitant to criticize this hotel since a little more investigation on my part would’ve revealed the regular non-Oktoberfest rate of around €80. At €80, anyone can guess the type of hotel it is, which is a bare bones simple hotel. For the positives, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was convenient. For the most part the hotel was clean so at the standard price, I would be satisfied.
Some people may complain about the location but we found the people in the neighborhood and local businesses to be extremely friendly. In fact they were very happy to see tourists and provided exceptional service.
Areas to improve on would be:
The pictures online have to be old as the rooms were very outdated including stained grout in the bathroom tile, and stains on the couch.
There is no AC, which seems to be standard in Munich because it was hot and uncomfortable everywhere. Due to the temperature, we did not sleep well.
There was only one iron so once a guest obtained it, it stayed with that guest. The staff refused to check on the return timeline for the iron. The other hotels I stayed at had on this trip did not have a problem asking for the iron so I do not understand the reason for refusing to ask.
Thanks
It's a shame that Hotels.com advetise this hotel. The quality of the room and service was so poor. When we checked in, the male receptionist looked inconcenienced that he had to come to the front desk - he wasn't welcoming whatsoever. The temperature was 32 degrees on the two days we were there. The room was sweltering warm with no air conditioning. We asked the man on reception if there was a fan available. Once again he appeared inconvenienced to even be asked this question. We had to sleep with the windows open above a busy street with bars and clubs playing music until past 1am, people shouting below and the constant strong smell of shisha coming through the window from below - it was vile. There are three 'strip clubs' in very close proximity to the hotel (it was in an unsavoury area). Not family friendly. No tea or coffee making facilities available. The room itself was in poor condition - the weighty curtains were barely hanging by broken or missing plastic hooks. The curtains themselves ended up falling down three times during our visit, so my partner had to attempt to put them back up on the reminants of broken hook pieces. The bed headboard was marked, the sofa was heavily stained, and the tv was broken with such a bad break to the screen that it was unusuable. The bath-shower didn't look clean with black marks inside (they could have been public hairs but I was unwilling to investigate). Very, very poor and a waste of money. Poor experience from Hotels.com!
Es war etwas dreckig und es wurde ein Sexspielzeug in einem Nachtschrank gefunden
Poor staff, no breakfast. No room service during stay. No fridge..
This is a very basic hotel. During summer it can get very hot with no air conditioning.
I asked for my room be cleaned but they only gave me fresh towels; they didn’t even make the bed.
In town for the Germany v Scotland football game. We wanted a centrally located hotel, close to central train station and Marienplatz. We wanted a clean, comfortable triple room that was good value at the budget end of the market. This hotel delivered everything we wanted. If you are after similar I’d highly recommend this hotel.
It was terrible experience.
The mattress was very uncomfortable, the springs were literally hurting the back. The towels were dirty. The curtain was broken, room enterance was a safety hazard and there is no mention of that, i was about to fall down and stymbled at the enterence.
I checked in around 7:30 and there was no one in the hotel to talk about the problems, in the morning i checked out just before 8am and there was no one at the reception to talk about it
This location is close to Munich city center. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted which was nice. It is also close to the train station. The street is loud with the windows open, but with the windows closed it isn’t as loud. The staff was very friendly and allowed us to check in early as well as printed our train tickets.
Well priced and located near the train station and old town.
Close to the centre but low level hotel
We pnly stayed gor 4hrs prior to a overnight train to Berlin. Showered and had a kebab as that was the limited local eating options
Do not book this hotel. We felt so unsafe while staying here. You’re close to the train, but that’s not worth it because you’re also close right next to strip clubs. The hotel in itself is dirty. The floors and walls are stained and it needs to be redone. If you stay here, you will not sleep because it is so loud at all hours outside since it was the bars and strip clubs next to it. One of the worst stays I’ve ever had.
We just stayed one night so it was ok since it was close to the center of the city. But our window opened to a plaza and a lot of people passwd by late at night and restaurants near by made noise so we did not sleep very well. But overall the room had everything we needed
I felt like I was in the middle East. No restaurants close by other than middle East types.Half of the staff was nice & friendly. The room was clean & the bed was comfortable. I had to walk a long ways to find German food. They don't have coffee or tea in the morning.
The staff were wonderful and helpful! The property was older than it reflects in pictures but was okay for our stay. Area outside of hotel was a bit scary but no one really bothered us except the homeless.
I hate giving bad reviews but the hotel and service had so many issues for our group.
1) The door knob fell off on the hallway side of our room. My son was in the hotel room & was luckily able to open it, but if you had a younger child it would of caused a serious issue. The older gentleman that was at the desk (2nd day) quickly fixed it. Was very sweet & very cheerful.
2) A friend’s room had water coming out of ceiling light sockets when he checked in. The young girl at desk was absolutely useless & wanted to charge him for a second room instead of moving him. We had only just checked in.
3) Instead of moving him into a new room, they added a cot to the room of another couple traveling with us— without telling them they would be adding someone to their room. Oh - the hotel still had vacancies & rooms available.
4) The area was once very beautiful and looks to be trying to fight the blight that is starting to set in.
The older guy was great but the younger girl had horrible customer service and routinely ignored you.
Munich was amazing though!!
