We stayed at the property for three nights following a week’s holiday at the Cliff Bay Hotel, the extra three night stay
Pros:

We liked the evening meal buffet, the self service meant we could eat the amount we wanted as we could help ourselves, we don’t eat huge meals.

We liked the short walk to the village Nazare above the property.

On departure day our flight was in the evening and we had to vacate our room at midday, but we were able to use the shower room in wellness area and reception provided us with towels.

Cons:

It was quite a steep walk up hill to the hotel until we discovered we could catch a bus to Nazare.

Pros:

Das Hotel hatte eine super Lage. Wir konnten über ganz Funchal schauen und den Sonnenaufgang konnten wir auch aus dem Zimmer sehen. Das Personal war super freundlich. Sie haben einen immer weiter geholfen. Der Bus Shuttle in die Stadt war super praktisch. Die Zimmer waren sauber und von der Größe genau richtig. Wir würden immer wieder hier her kommen:)

Cons:

Das sind nur so Kleinigkeiten. In den Zimmer haben Haken gefällt wo man die Jacken mal aufhängen könnte. Der Kaffee hätte besser sein können und die Wurstauswahl hätte auch besser sein können.

You only get what you pay for - fine for short stay.
Pros:

It was a last minute booking due to a cancelled flight. They accommodated us and dealt with us quickly and efficiently. Room was fine for our short needs but would not have wanted to stay in it for a long period such as a holiday

Cons:

Very impersonal, noisy ‘cocktail’ bar lacking character, room did not have any tea/coffee making facilities and balcony lacked a decent view and was dark. Fine for a short one night stay, but not long term. I guess however this was reflected in price.

Pros:

The view from the room. The room. The breakfasts. The staff. The bed. The pool, in fact most everything.

Cons:

I realise the location gave us the great views but it is quite a distance to the restaurants etc and it would have been good if the shuttle bus operated later in the evening.

Mooie kamer, prima ontbijt. Bleef constant goed aangevuld. Fijn zwembad met genoeg ligbedden. Prima hotel. Erg aardig personeel. Gratis veel parkeerplekken voor auto.

Niks. We wisten dat locatie niet heel dicht oude centrum Funchal ligt. Maar met uber die veel rijden met 8 min voor max 8 euro in t centrum.

Tolle Lage, oberhalb vom Zentrum mit Blick in Richtung Monte und Hafen. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut.

Outstanding staff
Pros:

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The views are great, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast buffet has a wide range of choice. However, the reception staff were outstanding – it’s not often that you get excellent service with a sense of humour. They were really exceptional.

Madeira ist eine Reise wert und das Panoramico empfehlenswert.
Pros:

Der Blick über Funchal ist wunderschön. Morgens draußen zu frühstücken, fanden wir sehr schön.

Cons:

Wir waren zum dritten Mal in diesem Hotel . Das Essen war bei diesem Besuch nicht so gut, wie die Male zuvor.
