J ai réservé 2 chambres lors d une même réservation dont une avec 2 enfants et nous n étions pas au même étage!
Pas d eau chaude dans tout l hôtel.
La poignée de la salle de bain des enfants était cassée.
Une seule grande serviette dans la chambre pour 2 personnes.

An acceptable hotel almost in the city center
Pros:

The hotel has a good location. The reception staff is attentive and helpful. The room is comfortable and has basic amenities. Regular cleaning at convenient times. Breakfast is available and dinner is available in the restaurant. The upper terrace offers a great view.

Cons:

Although the hotel is located almost in the city center, the surrounding area is unpleasant (construction site, some kind of garage). The balcony is not very usable given the surroundings. The room has inconvenient lighting, making it difficult to work. The shower lacks shampoo and hair conditioner, and there are no shelves for storing your own. The bed is terribly uncomfortable; it has an extra mattress that constantly slips, and it makes the bed too soft and high. The hotel has a pool, but it's small and difficult to use (no robes, changing rooms, etc.). Breakfast is very mediocre. The selection is minimal and hardly changes from day to day. The restaurant staff is inattentive. Trays are often not refilled. The juices in the vending machine are diluted to almost clear water, tasteless and odorless. Often, in a large restaurant, there's nowhere to sit because the tables are not cleared for a long time.

Lovely reasonably priced hotel in excellent location with friendly helpful staff.
Pros:

Breakfast was good. Location is excellent.

Cons:

Bar is a little bit drab and non-athmostpheric. Should have a bar on the roof-top area.

Great little hotel in central location
Pros:

Great location, clean, good roof top pool and sunbathing area. We enjoyed the gym too. Breakfast was simple but sufficient selection. Staff very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

Cons:

View from balcony was not great. Car park view.

Ok, das naheliegende Hotel Turim gefällt mir besser

Renoviertes Haus, zentrale, ruhige Lage um die Sehenswürdigkeiten zu erkunden. Modern eingerichtete Zimmer. Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Frühstück kleine Auswahl, aber gut.

Cons:

Mein Zimmer und das Bad waren recht klein. Von der Dachterrasse war ich enttäuscht, man blickt teilweise auf eine Baustelle und/oder umliegende unattraktive Gebäude. Der Fitnessraum war viel zu klein, beengt, der Stepper quietschte.

Pleasant accommodation for a few days in Funchal.
Pros:

The location was good for exploring Funchal and loads of buses for venturing further afield with some good walking trails.
Plenty of restaurants and cafes to accommodate everyone’s choice.
Lovely staff very helpful both on the front desk and at breakfast.
We were able to get into our room early as it was ready which we were grateful for.
The rooftop terrace was perfect to relax at the end of the day and wonderful panoramic views.

Cons:

The room we had was quite small with limited wardrobe/draw space. We were only at this hotel for two nights which was fine. We would have felt cramped with our clothes if we were there for longer. We didn’t use the rooftop pool as it wasn’t heated and it was freezing. Some people may not mind this.
