Friendly team, clean hotel, excellent breakfast
Pros:

Staff very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Room was clean and there were biscuits and nice toiletries, quiet in the evening. Great location for the sea front.

Felt extremely unsafe as a solo female traveler

This place is worn down and some rooms are in the basement - the door to the basement is held open with a fire extinquisher. The place was clean.

Stayed here as a single woman and from my experience - DO NOT STAY HERE.
Checked in the evening around 22.15 and was told that the internet and any of the booking systems are not working. So basically the receptionist did not know what room I'd booked and I told a double room. The receptionist was not wearing any shoes and smelled of alcohol. He showed me my room which was in the basement and then CAME INSIDE THE ROOM AND THE DOOR CLOSED BEHIND HIM. At this moment I panicked since I did not he would be coming in!? He glanced at the window and fortunately he left. I locked the door but then he came back after 2 minutes asking for my booking confirmation number and asking why I'm not letting him in. I said I'm not opening the door. He left after hearing the number. As a result, I felt very unsafe and did not know how to leave since the man was outside somewhere in the building!? and the streets did not feel safe at night. The door had a good lock but outside the window it was creepy as well with a open door. I would not recommend for any single woman to stay here. I left promptly in the morning.

Cons:

The bathroom was big but narrow, having to sit side on for the toilet.
It could be alot better designed. The toilet also kept making grinding noises after flushing?
It was a basement room & looked very shabby before going to room.
The man who looked like the owner, was rude, as he served everyone coffee, for whatever reason, he ignored us. We only got our coffee 10 mins before finishing breakfast, & even then it was served to us begrudgingly.
My wife did ask for tea, but we gave up that request.
Maybe it would be a good idea if didnt appear for breakfast
The younger breakfast background staff were friendly, so they could easily fill in the very small void that he generated
