Great location, welcoming and helpful staff.
Pros:

The staff, especially the lady and gentleman on reception, were very welcoming and very attentive to our needs. We asked if we could have little more bedding and they were straight on it and with us in minutes.
Always a welcome smile as we came and went in our two night stay.
The room was lovely and quiet, warm and spacious.
Bathroom was clean.

Cons:

Windows could do with a clean.

Cons:

Bates Motel - Firstly, after checking in we had a look around the restaurant and function rooms and were followed around by a male member of staff who then appeared to follow us up to our room. We were encouraged by this strange member of staff to book our weddings here. We had no conversation with this man, he just followed us. The reception is boiling hot with a really a damp and musty smell through the hotel. The room smelt so bad of stale cigarettes. Interesting guests staying in the hotel, rather intoxicated and shouting including a dog and his owner who were both barking. Not soundproof at all could hear everything. Turning on the shower resembled a chainsaw starting up which echoed throughout the whole room. After returning from dinner, we were entering our room around midnight not making a huge amount of noise, when a male (unsure if guest or staff) appeared out of no where and told us to be quiet despite the intoxicated people rolling around reception. We then saw rather large cockroaches crawling around the room. We requested to move during which I was number three in the queue at reception for complaints. They moved us to the one of the refurbished rooms outside and were told by the male member of staff to make sure we dont have any "visitors" joining us as he would have to charge us extra for the room. The underlying indication seems to be that we were sex working, suggesting its something that happens regularly at this hotel. We were hugely offended at this suggestion. He said he'd show us to the room but then just stood there and stared vacantly into space. We were not asked for the £200 deposit on arrival but when I was in the queue for complaining another couple were being asked for the deposit which seemed to be a racial bias. If you look at reviews online it appears only non British tourists are being asked for this deposit and then never getting it back.

We arrived in the new room around 1am.

It was comfortable, felt safe for the most part and enjoyed the facilities.
Pros:

I enjoyed the location, near everything youd need including the beach which felt nice, i also liked how friendly the staff were, very welcoming, also enjoyed the decorations around the hotel which were very interesting to look at while walking through the hallways.

Cons:

The walls seem a little thin, i could hear a lot from rooms around me didnt bother me too much but could cause problems for others. Also at 3am on my first night a few men came into my room by mistake which woke me up, it was a scary experince especially since im a teen girl and was travelling alone but i think there might be an issue with locks which is a bit confusing if maybe the way thedoors work could be explained beforehand would be helpful.
