Staff were brilliant, always really friendly and helpful. It's only a short walk to the beach too. Lots of choice for breakfast, and non dairy milk options too. We paid extra for a room with a sea view, I would expect to pull back the curtains and see the sea, but you had to go out onto the balcony (it was too cold to sit out there though), and you could only see the sea from one of the chairs, so that was disappointing. It can be tricky to park when the hotel is busy. We had to drive a 5 minute walk away to find a space to park on the road. Nice jacuzzi in the spa, the pool was too cold to swim in though.
We really enjoyed our stay at your hotel. Everything was clean and excellent. The rooms were spacious with a beautiful sea view. The quality of the food was outstanding. I’m very happy that I chose your hotel for my holiday.
This hotel was absolutely spotlessly clean, all the staff were welcoming and helpful, the food was good although I would have liked a little more fresh fruit at breakfast. They do cater for dogs, as we took our cockapoo, but you wouldn’t know as somehow they keep this place so clean, there was not even a dog smell as I’ve experienced in some dog friendly hotels.
A quick 5 minute walk to the beach and plenty of parking.
It’s clear that this hotel is a little dated but my rating of 5 out of 5 is for the staff, cleanliness and the perfect mini 2 night break we experienced.
We would definitely return.
We got a really good rate on two rooms at the Riviera Hotel so we were not sure what to expect. We arrived early and were able yo take advantage of free parking outside. The Reception team were extremely friendly and helpful on our arrival and throughout our stay - they are a real asset to the hotel. The facilities were as you would expect for the money we paid. All the basics that you would need. The two rooms were both very clean and comfortable. We used the pool and spa bath while we were there which were also very clean. The location is excellent and you can reach the beach at Alum Chine in about 5 minutes. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
This was our third visit and as usual the staff were exceptional , still haven’t used the pool but I’m sure it would be worth it . Our only disappointment on this visit was that the Cunard restaurant was not open for evening meals . I’m sure this was just due to the early season but we found eating in the bar not the same experience and will check before visiting again as we felt this affected our overall visit .
Fantastic location
Fantastic rooms
Fantastic restaurants
We had a leak from the lavertory, also the room was not serviced after asking the reception to do so.
A pleasant and friendly hotel. We would return as it's a good location for strolling along the beach which is close by.
The staff were lovely and nothing seemed to be a problem and were always willing to help if you needed something. The food was good and plenty for breakfast to start off your day.
My only problem was we were in room 007 which is located near the entrance to the pool/ spa so the was a smell of chlorine (at times quite strong in the room) and some sort of generator or pump next door or close by which was a quite noisy. Also guests congregated at the door to the pool chatting as some struggled to input the code correctly. But as it was a very last minute booking I guess it was all that was available, so would let that go.
That said would definitely return for sure.
Didn't really take any photos of the hotel or in the hotel other than personal ones so no photos to upload.
Great location and enjoyed the bar area, pool and spa very tired- same tiles from when I was there 30 years ago! Mattress was very soft so we kept rolling into each other in the night but room was clean
Staff were lovely and the kids made lots of friends and were able to use the craft table, pool table and ping pong table by themselves.
5 min to the beach with a great swing park.
Bed rooms are dated but clean and I think the price reflects this (which is fare)
My family have enjoyed holidays at the Riviera many times, but for me it was the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, the staff are all amazing ! from the moment you walk through the door everyone is so friendly, needless to say that I will be returning, thank you
Lovely location quiet but close to the beach and about 20 mins stroll along the promenade to the centre of Bournemouth but there are no shops nearby. There is a good size car park with a few charging points. The hotel is pleasant with a good breakfast and the restaurant food excellent and staff friendly and helpful. However our room (117), and en suite were very small and the bed was lumpy. A newer mattress and a slip mat for the very slippery bath plus a few wall hooks in the room and en suite would have made the accommodation more comfortable. Having said that overall the hotel was value for money and we would come back.
We had a lovely stay at the riviera hotel. Perfect location. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast.
Spent a stopover night here with husband and daughter (and two large huskies). There was a function being held in the dining room which overwhelmed the staff a bit, but they kept calm and carried on!
The bathrooms, while clean, need ripping out and replacing with all singing, all dancing showers imo.
The food was homely and possibly cooked from scratch where possible, so kudos to the chef!
Overall, a pleasant stay and would definitely stay again.
Fantastic family hotel with great facilities. Great locations, beach just five min walk. Friendly staff and good value for money breakfast. Would recommend to families and will return.
Great hotel, friendly staff and excellent food
Good location, good breakfast, godd car parking
You feel totally at home, as soon you check in
Great location, friendly staff on welcome and throughout my stay. Room had everything I needed and although I didn’t book a sea view room, it could be seen from my window room 109. Great value for money, I opted for breakfast when booking and this was great with plenty of choice and loved that it was self serve - not sure on the scrambled eggs though as these were a bit grainy. Great view in dining room of the sea if you opt for a rear window seat. I also used the pool which was nice, jacuzzi was out of action due to being refurbished which was a little disappointing but didn’t ruin my stay, you need £1 coin for lockers which I wasn’t aware of (might have been in the info somewhere but I didn’t know so took my things down to the pool area whilst I swam. I managed to get a parking space but plenty of on street parking if they were all taken. Really well located for access to the beach within walking distance and just a 5 minute walk to, which I made full use off especially to get up and watch the sunrise.
Room comfortable and clean. Good for the beach and a pleasant stroll to the town. Staff friendly.
