Ramada by Wyndham Cheltenham

The shower pressure was terribly low and the water literally stopped flowing repeatedly when trying to shower. When I raised this with the manager I was told the “pressure was fine and the same throughout the building”. I asked her to come to our room and witness the low pressure, which she did and when viewing the shower she responded “oh, well it was fine a minute ago when I checked it”. As well as the issue with pressure there was no actual cold water coming out of the taps, only warm water from both the hot and cold. Yes, it was a heatwave, but my taps at home provide cold water so how can this be an acceptable issue for a hotel? There was also no air conditioning available, which though cleverly taken off of the room information by the hotel is usually an expected service standard, we were only made aware of this when we arrived given us no time to arrange another hotel, in a heatwave! When I raised my complaints with the manager she rudely said that everything would have to go through booking.com and essentially just tried to brush it off. We had a horrible stay with two young children in a heatwave with little to no running useable shower and no air conditioning. Absolutely appalling.

There was a notice on the front desk advising there were renovations taking place and that there was no air conditioning, this was ok but none at all, anywhere. You’d think a few portable units could have been placed in reception and the restaurant.

The room wasn’t 100% clean, shower was dirty so had to hose that down before washing. Bar and reception area were nice but rooms very dated and hot (AC didn’t work and plug in fan wasn’t the best)

Not soundproof but o well.

Air-conditioning staff and lack of help

Carpets were not deep cleaned - possibly pets in the room before . Developed Allergic reaction. Sink in the bathroom was cracked . Mould behind sink.

The first room had issues so got moved. The 2nd room had what I thought was minor issues until late a night when I shut the bathroom door and found finger print smears of what comes out your bottom over the door!!! The doors to rooms are not soft close so there were bangs all night! The bar was lovely but the prices were way over the top.

The room. The lock didn't work properly, lots of dirt, the was tissue stuck in a hole in the roof, I'm guessing to stop a leak

3 things -
1 - Hottest day of the year to be told Aircon is broken on arrival, but there is a fan in your room.... fan did nothing, got to 1 am and ended up sleeping in my car as it had aircon. Paid over £100 to sleep in my car.
2 - In-house restaurant choices were very limited and expensive, so I went out to eat in an air-conditioned location
3 - Being called by the hotel to try and secure my reservation with payment over the phone, which I did not do, but I feel now it was a ploy telling me they were fully booked, when in fact they were losing bookings because of the lack of air conditioning, but this I can not confirm or deny but the hotel was not full at all, if I had know the aircon was broken I would have also cancelled and gone elsewhere.

There is little not to like. If you have high expectations, you may find a few minor niggles. There is an obsolete air con system, we stayed during the recent heatwave and were provided with a powerful fan, this wasn’t a deal breaker. There were minor marks and flaws on walls and the carpet. However, it was exceptionally clean.
We were staying overnight with an evening arrival and early start the next morning. So for us, it suited our needs perfectly.

The lack of Aircon fans are not that good but temperature was unusual

Hotel and restaurant seemed to be separate entities..Restaurant was quite expensive for this type of basic hotel. The breakfast that was included was just continental, you could order hot food at extra cost. Our bathroom door was really difficult to close.
No air-conditioning even though it was there we had a noisy fan and it was hot weather.

No air conditioning, only fans that were no use so couldn’t sleep.
Old and poor decor
No water, no fridge, poor toiletries, no tissues, no room instructions, not even a do not disturb notice.

We weren't given the room we thought we were getting, there was an air con unit in the room-it had broken... Fans were supplied though... But the biggest negative I have is the amount we were charged for food in the restaurant.!!! At lunch time.
For the amount we were charged, you'd expect to have a full tummy...

Dat de receptionist zei dat er nog niet was betaald voor de boeking terwijl wij het bewijs hebben dat het wél is betaald. Dit is 'n zakelijk probleem tussen Booking en het hotel. We hebben nógmaals moeten betalen om daar te kunnen verblijven. We hebben nog steeds geen antwoord van Booking ontvangen.
