Room disappointing.
Pros:

Front of house, reception and bar/restaurant were beautiful and staff were immaculatly presented and friendly. Free car parking on site is a real bonus in a town centre setting. We did not view or use the spa so cannot comment on that.

Cons:

As a traveller with disabilities I found not many disabled allocated parking spots for the size of the hotel. Access from the main building to the function suite was quite uneven and totally inadequate from a lighting and handrails for steps needs. This should be address from a basic health and safety requirement.
Although the public areas were impressive we felt the bedroom was definitely disappointing. We had paid extra to get a king-size bedroom and felt that although the bed was bigger, the room was not particularly spacious. The carpet, furniture and decor were all tired and dated with a need to be upgraded to merit the nightly charge. The bathroom was same with tired, basic white tiled decor. No shower mat provided so the bath was very slippy to use to shower. Breakfast was average with nothing to complain about but nothing to rave about either.
We only had a one night stay to attend a function but definitely would not rush back. We had considered making a 2 night stay but were really glad we hadn't. Summing up not good value for money.

Amazing hotel, fantastic staff but the beds let the place down so I wouldn’t return unfortunately
Pros:

Stunning building, very clean, decorated to a great standard and central to anything of interest in the area

Cons:

The beds were SO uncomfortable. We spent two nights there. I spoke with the staff after the first night and they changed our room- the staff were very apologetic and helpful unfortunately the second room beds were even worse. We woke up sore today

Room - Perfect

Cons:

Breakfast - Quality of food. Bacon streaky, Sausage tasteless.
Buffet - Staff backwards and forwards to kitchen for food. We waited for eggs, then waited for streaky bacon.
Did'nt flow very well, especially at busy times.

Really enjoyed my stay here
Pros:

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and good location. Room was upgraded on arrival which was even better.

Cons:

Thought there was a gym on site when I booked but that is over the road in the centre. Could have been a mistake on my part though.

It's a shame the attention to detail in the spa does not make its' way into the hotel.

Terrible, uncomfortable mattress. Room door rattled and all conversations outside the door could be heard.

A lovely comfortable stay with a tasty breakfast.
Pros:

A beautiful building in a very central location. We had a room with a jacuzzi bath which was fabulous. The furnishings are very tasteful and the food is very good.
