We enjoyed our estuary view room which was large and beautifully maintained, complementary tea, coffee and biscuits were refreshed daily. The breakfast menu is fairly comprehensive and the options we selected were well presented albeit I felt the cold items available ie fruit and yogurt were small in quantity. There was always toast available, however, to complement any dish selected. Tea and coffee were very good. We also enjoyed a very good Sunday evening meal, the roast was flavourful and well presented. A good range of wines to choose from also.
Wider selection of fruit, yogurt and cereal options at breakfast. Maybe a buffet style scenario to accommodate this rather than just waiter service.
Okay
Location was great with food parking. Room was lovely and the bed was comfy.
It said it was dog friendly which it was in most areas apart from the main bar and restaurant. The restaurant I absolutely understand but as one of the reasons we had picked the hotel was for the food I was very disappointed. We were allowed to eat in the pub downstairs but it was noisy and the food was ok but not what we had been expecting.
The location was amazing and a short stroll into the centre.
The breakfast was very underwhelming. Much prefer to self serve continental offerings than have to choose at the table. The hot breakfast was very poor in quality.
Besides the breakfast the room / hotel facilities were great
The breakfast
Setting
I'm fussy and like to make my own fruit and cereal.
The view from the room was excellent.
The size of the room was far smaller than we had booked.
The staff attempted to change the room for us, but that was the next day, and we simply couldn't be bothered to pack up and unpack again in the slightly bigger room.
The bed was far far too small for 2 people. Two pillows beside each other didn't even fit.
We think the room we were in was for a single person.
Third time staying at the Greenbank. Great location, really good value for money and I'll be back.
Breakfast. Fully appreciate it was Sunday and I arrived just before 10h00, but then took 30mins to order and have it delivered. When it came the plate was nuclear hot and the food had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while, so it was a 4 out of 10 when it could have just been served earlier. That said.....the overall value for money of your roadside single rooms inc breakfast is outstanding, so consider this an "even better if......" and not a "what didn't you like" as the headline suggests.
Lovely hotel - service exceptional and restaurant view was amazing. Food of very high quality, if a little pricey, but there was ample room in the bar area for cosy seating and a great ambience. Having previously always stayed at St Michael’s, this was an excellent alternative and I’d happily return! Great location for exploring the town.
Some areas a little worn and outdated but mainly corridors - room had a few cobwebs above the curtains but generally well decorated and clean.
Reichhaltiges Frühstück, Aussicht und Essen Restaurant und Bar.
Unterirdisch schlechtes WiFi. Trotz vieler Parkplätze ist dieser ständig voll, Parkieren schwierig.
Smelled cleaned & fresh on arrival, very welcoming
There was nothing we didn’t like
Fantastic hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff excellent. Fantastic views.15 minutes walk to the town.
Loved the Working Boat Pub underneaththe hotel, they served good quality food. Granny Alice fish pie best I've ever tasted.
Lovely hotel that we have visited many times for dining and drinks. It was lovely to stay for a few days. All staff were friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Lovely location overlooking the harbour.
