Hôtel Moderne

Arrived mid thunderstorm so unloading a bit of effort as parking not close. Nice guy on reception, room was Ok nothing flash but comfortable. No food at evening on Sunday so had another wet trek to eateries in main square.
Breakfast was adequate some variety, morning reception lady also lovely. Traffic outside open window a bit of too early morning call, but all and all fine.

Great location great staff

Directly across the street from the train station, this welcoming little hotel is well situated in a highly walkable little city.
The staff arranged for a taxi to take us to and return us from the nearby Vimy memorial site.
Seek out Chez Bichette a short walk away. EXCELLENT food at a charming little restaurant.

The hotel was well located, a quick walk to the Grand Place. The desk clerk was very helpful in booking us a restaurant on a Monday when most things were closed. Good value and right across the street from the train station.

hotel was very clean. My room was on third floor and I have a problem to connect to Internet. I did not have internet at all. I think this hotel is to expensive for service they provide.

We stayed for two nights. The room was spacious and clean albeit relatively basic and no airconditioning, the shower was great and the bed was large and comfortable. At this price bracket, you are aware that the building is a little older and more dated.

It's close to the main squares of the old town and a short walk from the train station. But the location is very quiet and we had two good nights' sleep.

There was plenty of on street parking out the front of the hotel - free overnight and weekends and only four euro to park the car for the entire day.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

I have only two negatives - the drainage smell in the streets around the building - not something I think the hotel could do anything about. The second negative is the breakfast - this consisted of orange juice and tea, very limited fruit and some ordinary fruit yoghurt, a piece of cheese, toast and a small pastry - at twelve euros I think you could do much better at a cafe.

Overall, a good budget choice.

Visited Arras for the Christmas market and got a good deal for a group of four
The hotel is very close to town, a few minutes walk.
There is parking outside, but it is pay and display, not too expensive though, dedicated free disabled parking spaces.
Disabled access looked ok and there was a lift to the upper floors.
The reception staff were very helpful and gave a pleasant welcome.
The room was nice and clean, en suite bathroom and had a comfortable bed, overlooking station square.
Breakfast was reasonably priced and a continental buffet style. Sweet Croissants, cheese and meats. oh and the obligatory yoghurt. Decent breakfast tea, so no need to bring your own PG tips.

Have stayed many times at the Moderne. Restaurants are close at hand and if you don't want to drive Arras station is opposite. Half an hour to the Somme battlefields and only 8euros on the toll road. I highly recommend it if you are visiting the battlefields. I shall be returning. JM

Arrived in the afternoon, very warm welcome by the staff.
The room was ready for immediate occupation.
The room was clean and overlooked the station square.
Shower was spacious and clean.
Hot water was immediately available.
All floors serviced by a lift.
Parking is available right outside, but limited. There is a public car park right opposite, both locations are pay and display.
Breakfast was a little pricey, but there is a real lack of choice outside the hotel.
The breakfast was a continental buffet style, nice and fresh.
Very close to the town centre, I assume the real test would I stay again...... Definitely good value for money and convenient

Fair hotel. A small room and no aircon were the drawbacks. The hotel is near Arras station and there is train and traffic noise. Otherwise, a fair hotel at a fair price.

I stayed on the third floor in mid august for 3 nights to visit the nearby monument in Vimy Ridge. The staff were extremely welcoming and quickly got me settled, and when needed had a good variety of taxi's they were able to call (The one I ended up using was Artois Taxi, thoroughly impressed. Knowledgeable and respectful.). My room was clean with two single beds pushed together. Not a big concern as I was traveling alone. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated. The tub was a bit of a step, so if you have mobility issues it may be a concern, and a glass curtain covering half of the tub which made showers a little odd to try and keep water from splashing out. The beds only had duvets, which gave 1 of two options, too hot or too cold for the summer month I was there. Breakfast was a good spread of good k-cup type coffee, freshly squeezed orange & grapefruit juice, a variety of cheeses, yogurts, breads and some cereals I recall.
Overall, I would have enjoyed some sheets under the duvet, and the mattress was a bit stiff, but I have my youth and it wasn't a huge inconvenience. The location is excellent (within sight of the train station and near Arras sites), the price was reasonable given what is provided and the staff were very helpful and friendly with excellent English if that would be a concern for anyone.

The Hotel Moderne is a convenient place to stay which is within easy walking distance to the train station. Here, the hotel is a five- story building with comfortable and clean rooms, some of which overlook the paved park across the street. The reception is efficent with adequate check-in and check-out procedures and there is a restaurant included in the overnight fare along with a small bar that sells alcoholic and soft drinks making this a comfortable setting.

A comfortable room and conveniently situated

Stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a charming place. The room was good and furnished well. Breakfast was Continental and the coffee was excellent. The staff were always smiling and attentive and all spoke good English. Hotel is well located. I'd happily recommend this place!
