Great staff and nice atmosphere
The breakfast is honestly comprehensive with the relevant basics to get your day started, with additional Italian pastries etc. it covers just enough although not extensive as far as choice its enough for you to leave the hotel with a full stomach to start your day
The Pool is nice and warm with a decent size and was quite during the time we used it treelined which covers the pool area for a relaxation.
The hotel was amazing, really authentic Italian experience with a beautiful view, swimming pool area and gardens. The rooms were spacious and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. They gave us a list of restaurants with free shuttle which really helped when we didn’t want to do the walk into Sorrento on a hot day
There was nothing not to like and we’d stay again. The only thing that could make it a 10/10 was a shuttle bus to and from Sorrento. Walking into Sorrento downhill was fine, but the way back up would be difficult for someone less able than, us especially in the heat and the buses were unreliable and taxis expensive. Even if it went to a few hotels on the hill with a small charge we’d 100% use it

Room view was excellent. However, it was noisy from internal foot traffic and people talking late in the night. (Not the hotels fault but a notice could be displayed somewhere)
The hotel happily put together a breakfast to take away as we had to leave early for a trip. This was really good.
Breakfast was okay, however, it was bizarre that you couldn't have the warm option (scrambled eggs for example) until after 8am. Breakfast is served from 7am, so I would expect the chef to be available from then.
The hotel could run a shuttle service, from collection from and return to the train station. And to and from town in between certain hours. This can be for a small additional charge.
The property was beautiful, spotlessly clean with beautiful views. The pool area was lovely with lots of seating and the pool is bigger than the pictures suggest. The view from the terraces was stunning. It is an old building and therefore it is beautiful and pretty. The staff are unbelievable!! I have never met a team who are so helpful and I have stayed lots of places. They cannot do enough, before and during your stay. From arranging transfers, information on the area and ordering pizzas for us. One member of staff knowing we had waited a while for a bus and decided to come back and walk even popped out and gave us a lift down. The staff are so lovely and accommodating I genuinely cannot praise them enough. Also considering it is a hotel the food and drink prices were good but they also helped you order in pizzas.
So there is nothing I dislike about the property but there is a bit of pre planning to think of. The property doesnt provide shuttles to the town and the short cut whilst short in distance so not an issue in terms of length of walk it is steep and uneven so whilst I wouldnt let you put it off the property as it is exceptional just consider the walk when packaging your shoes.
The view was beautiful, the staff was helpful with any questions we had and very friendly.

The location and view, fantastic. The hotel is located slighty out of town, great if you like a quiet evening but not too far that you cant experience the nightlife with a short walk or taxi home later. The staff were very friendly, helped to get us restaurant bookings and arranged free shuttle services to and from. They offer tours and the hotel will sort out shuttle pick up and drop off for those too. Everything about Sorrento is made to make guests lives as easy as possible and this hotel does this perfectly. The breakfast is fine if you dont mind a continental style, the pool is nice and clean, the bar is great and again the views from the terrace are great, they make a nice spritz, the lunch menu is also quite extensive and the food is nice. I expected a 3 star hotel, everything was above that, the views are 5 star, the staff are 5 star, just dont expect them to make your requested cocktail at the bar or the chef to make you a random thing they dont have on the menu.
There is not much to dislke about Hotel La Badia, my partner and I really enjoyed our stay the only downside I would say would be that someone much older and much less fit than myself and my wife may struggle with the short hike down to Sorrento town, it is steep and on uneven cobble streets, perhaps not a suitable place to take your 80 year old parents or grandparents unless you want to taxi everywhere. Other than that a beautiful hotel with great rooms, great views and great staff.
