Auberge De La Source December 2025
Pros:

Great country atmosphere providing charming accommodations. The food was excellent and prepared with thought. The room was nice, but a little on the rustic side, however, it was very clean. I have never met a staff as a whole that were as friendly and accommodating as everyone at Auberge De Le Source. From reception, to wait staff, to house keeping, everyone wanted to go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Beautiful property, but…
Pros:

Spent 3 nights in main building, top floor.
Pros: comfortable and quiet, nice bedding. Friendly staff. Nice grounds.
Cons: it’s remote. We came by taxi from Deauville train station (50€)…took a taxi to Honfleur one day (pretty touristy, not a lot to do.)
The restaurant is expensive…dinner was good.
There are no bikes on property and no spa (I must have misunderstood.) I asked about the spa…you can call them in Honfleur and arrange, remember it’s 50€ to get there.
My big tip is…walk the 2 miles to the coast down the dirt road in front of hotel. On the way there is a Calvados tasting vineyard and an Argentinian restaurant that had the best food and atmosphere and friendly owner of anywhere we’d been in France!

Tranquility times ten.
Pros:

We stopped over for one night on the way home in this beautifully restored and renovated collection of buildings.

Someone has parted company with a shed load of money and you have to admire what they have achieved.

The restaurant especially is a wonderful place with exposed beams and views across the gardens.

Dinner was fantastic, breakfast buffet very good and service throughout personable and pleasant.

The room (31) was large and comfortable, more lovely views and a terrace if you have the time.

The bathroom lost a mark, scaled up shower head, tiny loo and a nasty grey grey decor that doesn’t really work.

Ideally located for Honfleur and probably worth a return for the dining experience alone with a better room.

Dinner and overnight at Auberge de la Source
Pros:

Wonderful time at the auberge. Delightful setting, lovely room, great service - very personal and attentive without being intrusive - and remarkable food. This was a kitchen on top form both in terms of imagination and execution.

Lovely retreat 5-10 min from Honfleur. One of our favorite nights in France
Pros:

What an unexpected GEM! This boutique of a hotel is a renovated and restored old farm house. It is simply lovely and you could spend days just sitting in the garden or walking in the countryside.
It is 5-10 min outside Honfleur so you need a car.
The staff is very accommodating and helpful. Parking is not an issue.

Honfluer is a MUST-SEE town in Normandy. Do not miss this. It was one of our favorite stops.

Enjoyable apart from noisy barking dog in the restaurant
Pros:

Very much enjoyed our two-day stay in August, plus one dinner and two breakfasts. Comfortable "Superior Charm" room, good dinner apart from a couple with a noisy barking dog sitting next to us. Why did they allow a couple to bring a dog inside like that when there was comfortable seating outside?

Self-service breakfast with excellent Nekta coffee machine. Nice surroundings. Convenient for our visit to Honfleur and Deauville - very crowded in August as we had been warned.

Excellent 6 night stay in an enchanting place
Pros:

We had an excellent 6 night stay at L'Auberge.... The environment is enchanting and very quiet. Our room (a suite) was spacious and nicely furnished. The bed are very comfy. The heating worked very well. The garden is delightful and very well maintained. We had 4 dinners in the restaurant all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We also made a good use of a small lounge area where fire was lit every evening to accompany our aperitif. The team in the L"Auberge is super helpful, professional and efficient. We would wholeheartedly recommend this place. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AFTER US SO WELL. .

Agréable séjour
Pros:

Pros:

My wife and I spent a wonderful and romantic weekend in October at the Auberge de la Source. The hotel is a beautifully converted historic farm house with a farm to table restaurant. The food and service was wonderful. The staff was so helpful and provided recommendations on hikes and sites to see. We especially appreciated the extra help and advice by Alain and the hotel staff. We will definitely recommend the hotel to our friends and family.

Enjoyable charming place
Pros:

Very nice and charming place beautifully located in the middle of the forest.
Good bed and also breakfast.
Only minus point is lack of attention to some decorative details which such place requires (such as flowers, lighting (general) but also use of soft instead of cool light)

Alain - Maitre de in restaurant
Pros:

The hotel is fabulous - charming and quaint with beautiful rooms and grounds. The restaurant is terrific and we had dinner there both nights. Adding greatly to the experience was Alain, the Maurer De, Waiter, Greeter and all-around person responsible for the experience. He was personable, knowledgeable and funny and added greatly to our evenings. Make sure you have dinner there at least once. And say hi to Alain for us!
